Just how far do you want in, darlin'?
It's a smooth ride on the sweet 'n' sexy surface
No work, all play, and I'm ok
if that's where you want to keep it
You've got troubles of your own
It's messy and dark near the bone
Old scars, abandoned cars
that I once thought would take me home
and the more recent wreckage
of teenage driving lessons
I don't take the gift
of a friend and lover lightly
Sometimes the frictive forgetting
is exactly what I need
and I'd rather not bleed
my drama all over the clean hotel sheets
Just please, don't ask me what's wrong
if you don't really want to know
It's ok if you want to bail after the intromission
instead of staying for the whole damned show
The metaphors need a little more cohesion, but not too bad for 8 a.m. and the caffeine just hitting my bloodstream, I think.
love,
poetry,
lust
