Currently vegging & happy to be doing so...

Escaped from the slave-pit on Wednesday at about 9pm, after receiving the final bunch of updates just after 7 - strongly suspect that the kit was not yet ready to ship & bits may break, but I did my best & that's all one can do. I'm currently resisting the temptation to remotely login & check for broken stuff, despite the fact that I'll almost certainly be the one who picks up the flak, if/when something does break. I think that resistance will last a few more days yet, though - have been messed around a little too much, to be in the mood for extra toil just now...

I spent Turkey-day up in Denison with a friend from Shigoto no Limey & his family. They're really nice folks, who proceeded to stuff me full of foodage & various home made alcoholic concoctions. I really like Denison & the surrounding area - in some ways it reminds me of the smallish town that I last lived in, back in Limeyland - both places were just far enough away from the nearest metroplex to still have a lot of relatively untainted local history/character. After the consumption of turkeys (for they had THREE of 'em), we walked off a few calories visiting some local spots along the Red River (Carpenter's Bluff bridge/Lake Texoma). T'was very windy, indeed, but nice to be outside!

Since local tradition appears to demand the listing of things of which one is thankful for - there's a whole bunch of stuff that I should offer thanks for, but for now I'll put:
o My family & the folks that I've come to know as friends (especially those that cheer me up, or offer me amusment)
o Being able to have absolute luxuary of a 5 day weekend, with all the consequencial opportunities for vegging out, stupid waking hours, online chatting, gaming & general wastage of time.
