oh yeah, this is why I love college!

Today was really fun . . . after being really really hot in the house for the previous day and all last night (because it was like a billion degrees in my room,) Molly, Jillian, Alissa, Emily and I all went downtown for lunch and some last minute recruitment shopping.   Before that, I woke up at like 9:30, opened the window and turned on the fan, took a shower, and had a humongous breakfast of most of an omelette, two pieces of french toast (even though I don't usually like it, I guess I do now), some hashbrowns, and a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch.  Then we all rode the el downtown, and got off @ the Chicago stop so we could work our way down Michigan Avenue.  We stopped in a couple stores because Emily needed shoes, Molly and I needed tops, I needed toeless stockings, Alissa needed something hot pink, and I don't remember what Jillian needed but I'm pretty sure at the end of the day she ended up with a bag.

First stop was the Nine West store, where we made fun of their ipod covers . . . one of them was like pink snakeskin, it was a little bizarre.  After that we stopped in the Burberry store and felt poor, and they had a quilted jacket on sale that I know my mom would really like and I was sad that I couldn't get it for her . . . then, we saw Grand Lux Cafe (our lunch destination), but first we stopped in Ann Taylor where Emily checked an item off her to-do list.  At the cafe, we had a waiter named Kyle.  He was fairly young, definitely not unnatractive . . . we weren't sure whether he thought we were obnoxious, thought Alissa was hot, or what . . . anyways, he made several jokes and we got like half of them.  Molly and I split fish and chips and it arrived in the weirdest way EVER.  The fries were in a bowl, and the fish were standing up on top of the fries all tilted toward the center, like a teepee.  WEIRD.  This was a on a plate, and there was also a bowl of cole slaw on it.  The meal was quite tasty.

Then to Marshall's where Jillian and Molly found a really cute hot pink sweater for me, yay!  Then to Nordstrom, of course, where I finally found the toeless stockings I had been stalking.  (hahaha.)  We searched high and low for a top for Molly and ended up with a cute camisole from Gap and a cardigan from H & M which is really nice and I'm considering getting for myself, because it's black, v-neck, cotton, which I've been wanting for forever but today I couldn't bring myself to buy it for some reason . . . probably because the stockings I got were $40.00 for two pairs (I didn't know which size I was so I got two) . . .

Then back to Evanston (Jillian and Alissa left earlier because Alissa had to be back by 6:00), where Molly and I got dinner sandwiches from Potbelly.  It is so awesome that you can get a sandwich there for $3.89 plus tax.  I love it!!!

I sound like I'm really hyper. I'm actually not.  I'm just very glad I had such a good day.  :)  Now off for some Aladdin with Alli Lukens.
