Very detailed trip to the zoo. Read if you wish

Sunday September 23 I stayed awhile after mass today, they wanted me to read scripture next week because they don't have enough people, so I agreed to do it, although, I think I would have to wear these robes.

Anyway after church, we took the brown Muzha Line to the Taipei Zoo Today might have not been the best day to go to the zoo. It was a little drizzly at times(on and off) and the sun was HOT!!. However, we weren't the only ones who decided to go to the zoo today. The MRT was crowded. First we had lunch at McDonalds. Then we headed to the zoo. It's weird. You know how most zoos have like a path that circles around. Well according to the map I think there is only one way through the zoo and then there are pathways that branch off but lead back to the main pathway, which by the way is inclined up a hill. The first animal we saw were Koalas. They were so cute hanging on the trees eating. There were so many too. They were behind glass windows so it was hard to take a picture especially since we can't use flash. Then we went to the Nocturnal Animal House. This place was bigger than we thought 2 floors. Of course it was dark so basically unless you have a really good camera all the pictures(without flash) would come out blurry. But there was some really cool animals like all these different kinds of owls. I got to see one turn its head around. Surprising there were not bats. Although they had a one area of fish. which I just walked through. There were some tiny rodent like creatures, I got to see a Porcupine and a Hedgehog, oh and a Two-Toed Sloth, which I think are so cool. There was also this cute tiny little fuzzy animal called the Slow Loris. When we got out of the building it started raining. But we continued on to see some monkeys. The Orangutans were hiding under the rock ledge. One was eating some leaves and it came out just to grab some more leaves. I took a picture of a Malayan Tapir just because its an unusual animal and so huge. There were 2 huge Elephants, although one was busy reaching over the fence for some grass so it was facing in the opposite direction. Next door was the Bengal Tigers So pretty sitting on top of the rock hill. There was also one sleeping next to the glass window on one side.

The next area was the "Desert and then Australian Animal Area." They had both Bactrian and Dromedary Camels. The Bactrian camel was right next to the wall, it grabbed some grass to eat and then looked straight up at us. There were two baby Dromedary camels that were chasing each other around the area. Then one older one that kept pacing back in forth like it was showing off. haha. There were several Giraffes of different ages huddled around a feeding thing. Then they all moved under the cave to escape from the rain except for the tiniest one that kept trying to reach for food. It was so cute. The Zebras seemed to be frozen since they didn't seem to be moving much. Well actually it was only the 2 that were in the front. They were just standing there side by side not moving. The rest were eating grass. It was almost closing time so we just looked at one last animal the Hippopotamus. Unfortunately the lot of them were under the water so you couldn't really see them except when they eventually pop their eyes out of the water. There were 2 I think they were babies that were not in the main water, but there was like a hill(I guess) and a small pool which they were bathing in. Along the pathway they even had several statues of hippos protruding from the ground so it wasn't their entire bodies.

Anyway the zoo was closing so we walked back down then took the MRT to Taipei 101 where we found dinner at a Thai restaurant. It was pretty good, we ordered Pad Thai although its not exactly the same thing and chicken curry which wasn't spicy at all. We also ordered this shrimp toast dish. Then we went home.
