SKIN ID

OKAY

So, shameless promotion, but.
This is the product I've tested and have been using on my skin since January 2008: Neutrogena's Skin ID. I used Proactiv for five years to no avail. My face, every single day, would burn when I got in the shower. My zits wouldn't go away, they would just scar and move around my face. It was like the game of Whack-A-Mole, where you slam one down and it pops up in another place. My face was dried out, flaky, and had a completely different texture from the rest of my skin. Skin ID actually DOES work for me because it's completely personalized to fit my skin. You can take the survey on SkinID-- 20 questions regarding your lifestyle determine your specialized formula. This totally sounds like I'm selling the product, but really you guys, you don't know how elated I am since finding this.

If you don't believe me... my fucking face and results are at the bottom of this page:

And that's only after three months of using it.

My testimonial makes me sound like a retard because I have never done anything camera-related in my entire life, so the whole experience was extremely new to me. I wasn't used to be waited on hand and foot, being handed a water bottle with a clothespinned straw in it (so it doesn't drip), wearing clothes I'd NEVER WEAR, and having to answer questions in a strange format. I was really uncomfortable and wanted to get it over quickly so I was trying to answer without stumbling, but, heh, I did. I could never be an actress-- I don't love attention that much.

For instance, the man would ask: "Do you think your self-confidence has improved?"
And my sentence structure would have to be: "Since using SkinID (mention product name first), my self-confidence has really improved (incorporating question into the answer)."

So my only real input was the word "really". It was hard to elaborate the way I tend to do in person when I tell people about this product because everyone in the room was watching ME, waiting for me to say something, and I was wearing a really odd outfit and just wanted to see Neil (who sat and watched me get my hair done for an hour and TV make-up applied for another hour). I wore makeup for the video interview, which I don't think got on the site, but NOT in the result picture. Those are really my results.

ALSO HI NAIYA :D

My skin is healthier-- it actually feels soft like the rest of my body. The zits don't come in as harsh as they used to. Every so often, usually around my period, I'll get ONE REALLY BAD ONE that's usually eradicated in less than a day.

So if you guys have ever had a problem with acne, I seriously recommend this product. It's only $39.90 to start, which is cheaper than Proactiv (~$60), AND it only has two steps, whereas Proactiv has three.

Neutrogena SkinID
Twice a day (morning and night):
1. Cleaner: I use it in the shower 'cause it's easier, but basically, wet your face, massage it into your face, rinse face, dry. Smells wonderful (I've NEVER had a scented acne product), immediately cools your face. Doesn't feel waxy or greasy, honestly, but it doesn't have that sticky "lotion" feel to it either. It's creamy, if anything, but doesn't feel like it leaves residue on your face.
2. Lotion: Apply after using cleanser, don't rinse. Spreads very thin, but doesn't tighten your face up or make it shiny. Doesn't feel like you're wearing a mask or anything like that.

Daily:
3. Pad: Already medicated, NO DEALING WITH BOTTLES OR COTTON PADS, just take out the pad, rub your face, and throw it away. Use once a day when you feel like you need a refresher. I'd usually use this coming home from school and it's sickening how gray these would be. Makes your face feel a little "exposed" right after using, may make it red for a bit, but usually comfortably seeps into your skin less than five minutes later. Smells like citrus.

Proactiv
1. Proactiv cleaner: Wet face, massage into skin, rinse. Micro-scrubbers make it feel like they're getting into your pores, but they really don't. Unscented, leaves greasy residue afterward.

2. Proactiv toner: WORST NIGHTMARE. Take cotton pad, drip into the pad, rub on face, throw out. I'd either get too much, or too little, or the pad would absorb a lot of it, or once, I DROPPED THE BOTTLE and a bunch went down the sink, so the cleaner and lotion would have a lot of "leftovers" in comparison to what I had left of the toner. Really dried out my face, made my skin feel "stretched" over my face.

3. Proactiv lotion: Apply after using cleanser and toner, do not rinse. Made my skin shiny, almost reflective, and felt like I was just putting on a thin, greasy mask.

With the Proactiv three-step program, I had also tried the sulfur refining mask, which sometimes helped, but not usually. My point is, YOU SHOULDN'T NEED A THOUSAND EXTRA LOTIONS AND GREEN TEA MASKS AND HERB STUFF, all you need with Skin ID are the three things given because they are designed SPECIFICALLY for YOU!

"By spending a few moments to answer these simple and interactive dermatologists-developed questions, the experts at Skin ID will create a truly personalized acne solution just for you."

Proactiv is NOT the only product I used. I tried a ton of herbal remedies and other over-the-counter acne products:
Clean & Clear
Clearasil
OTHER Neutrogena Acne Products
AcneFree
Tea Tree Oil (Natural anti-septic)
Hydrogen Peroxide (natural anti-septic)
Clear Confidence pHisoderm
Herbal Essences Facial Wash
Bioré Nose Strips

AND I went to the doctor and even got a prescription for an anti-acne/general antibiotic pill (Doxycycline Hyclate), which helped remove major cysts but also made me throw up every time I took one, unless during a huge meal.

In comparison to my fingertip.

If you STILL don't believe me, here are ALL OF THE ABOVE PRODUCTS I HAVE USED.

I couldn't find the regular bottle for the Proactiv cleanser, but I have three regular-sized Repairing Lotions set up, to give you an idea. The travel-sized green bottle is the toner. Proactiv is NOT NORMALLY THAT SMALL, it's actually a bit smaller than the AcneFree. The repairing lotion for the AcneFree is set up next to the regular-sized Repairing Lotion for Proactiv.

I am not being paid to say this. If you know me, you've seen the results and you've heard me RAVE (lul) about it. I'm posting this because I seriously want to help people the way it helped me. I suffered five years of Proactiv, of my face being dry and burning and embarrassing and ridiculed and just wanting to hide away from everyone and of the excruciating PAIN of waking up and having to look at myself in the mirror, of the physical pain of actually having zits that felt like they were punching through my skin and tearing it apart. I have acne scars because my face used to be such a minefield. This is because my testimonial on SkinID.com makes me sound like stereotypical rebellious teenager trash. "IT'S AWESOME GAIZ" There's even a typo of "his" instead of "this".
