Saturday

After teaching the yoga and Pilates classes, I felt great, although with the Pilates class, mostly repeat people, three times its usual size, class was so large today and I compromised my neckwhile ensuring being able to see my students were moving safely.  One student left a card saying she would be back, unusual for Pilates students but not for yoga!  Frankly Pilates has been more fun to teach at this facility than the yoga.

Evening passed helping a friend release muscle spasms.  He demonstrated techniques on me, his verbal explanations were very thorough and enlightening, and then taught me how to observe and act on those observations.  I left satisfied that I had made progress, and knowing that I was able to induce the required relaxation although the muscles had not released the spasms completely.  He was moving and breathing more easily. He did say I did as much as he could have expected.  I enjoy leaning from such a dedicated artist.

As I left the most intense rainbow shone in the last of the early twilight.  Sunlight and shadow picked up clouds fluffed and tossed by the recent rain shower highlighted in many colors like a magnificent landscape in the sky.  I was awestruck by its beauty, and on the way home, drove through country roads so I could enjoy the wonder of the play of light and color on nothing more than airborne mist tumbled by the wind.

Cooked a proper Midwestern dinner tonight. By the end of the meal the effects of today's exertions came together with the rich meal,  I was feeling deeply sated and buzzing with comfort and bliss.

exchange skill, joy, midwestern food
