Birthdays, Wildlife & Thanksgiving
My sister Teresa's birthday is November 25, (Happy Birthday again Sis). My birthday is less than 2 weeks after hers' and until then I had not given a thought to the fact that my birthday was so close.
Anyway... earlier this evening I was out hunting down squirrel's nests and taking pictures of them. Matt arrived while I was doing this and he decided to give me one of my birthday presents early. He got me a pair of binoculars! I was not expecting them at all, nor was I expecting to even get a gift today :P It still doesn't feel like my birthday is around the corner. Maybe because I have a December birthday and it's still quite warm...I dunno.
Another exciting event happened today, (it's late, so technically yesterday). My company is a member of the Wildlife Habitat Council, and I have been wanting to join the Wilmington group at work. I just haven't been able to figure out who I need to talk too. Well, today a man came in to my office that needed a loaner laptop and he somehow got on the topic of the WHC group. I asked him about it and he invited me to the meeting they were having, which was actually today. So, I got to join!! Now, I get to do fun projects to upkeep the wildlife habitat land on the site. Also, if you are not a member of the WHC group you aren't aloud to take pictures on the site. So, now I can take pictures (without getting in trouble) of all the animals and nests and all that fun stuff. I can share the pictures with the group and they will get uploaded to the website. Since I walk all over that site seeking out animal "homes", I know where a lot of the critters live. I know I can get some great pictures of them.
I really want to get some pictures of the rabbits I've been feeding. Matt named them... The mother's name is "Min" and her little boy's name is "Max". They are shacked up together now for the winter, which has further confused my feeding routine (long story).
Out of nowhere now, I'm going to mention Thanksgiving. I went to my Mother's house and Matt went with his family to their long time friend's house. At my Mom's came my Dad, Tom (my mom's ex-husband), my Uncle Jamie and his son JD, and of course my sister Teresa. I think everyone had a nice time, I know I did.
I seriously need to go to bed. Matt is already passed out on the floor...
