Law School

So I know I wrote a blog saying I was going to start blogging again and then I was silent for weeks... but better weeks than years.
So...law school... it is everything I expected and more.
It's crazy to be surrounded by people that are all incredibly smart - a bit unnerving, really. The first few days, as I met my fellow 1Ls (students that are in their first year of law school), I was more surprised by how much we had in common than our differences. I was also, pleasantly, surprised that most of the people I met were very close to my age; in fact, those that hadn't taken any time off after college were the minority.
The workload, and more specifically, the type of work I now need to do is taking sometime to get adjusted to. The professors are all amazing, and different, and I feel so fortunate just to be in their classes. And although the material is hard to grasp (it's supposed to be), I at least feel like as I leave each class, I have come to understand it better than I did when I first went into class.
Studying, while takes a great deal of time and is fairly difficult (I spend 2-3 hours preparing for each class, and each class meets three times a week), but is punctuated by moments of excitement when I realize the possibilities that are out there, when what I'm learning gives me an idea of what I may do with my law degree after school. And therefore, I know that here, in this law school, is exactly where I'm supposed to be, exactly where I want to be right now. And that is an incredible feeling - when you start actually living out your dreams.
