Ties into my other stories Connor and the Tiger and it's sequel Teaching Connor

Ryan prided himself on his acute sense of danger. It's what made him run into that warehouse guns blazing, it's also what made him stop teaching Connor how to shoot. So with the T-Rex coming towards them and watching Connor's sanguine attitude he knew some thing bad was going to happen. He was right.

Completely disregarding his safety and showing a great deal of temerity, Connor ran towards the dinosaur. "I have an idea!"

Connor climbed into the control box of a crane that was being used in a construction site nearby. The idea was sound - hit the T-Rex with the crane and knock it out. The flaw was how the T-Rex fell, right on top of the control box, smashing it down.

Ryan stopped breathing for all of two seconds before he heard Connor complaining loudly about the stinking T-Rex breath. Connor was stuck in the control box of the crane that could be used to move the T-Rex, except for the fact that it destroyed the controls when it fell. Ryan called Lester requesting a new crane, which he was reluctant to send, but he finally agreed.

They had to wait half an hour before it arrived. Thankfully it arrived, along with Stephen and an extremely heavy dose of tranquilizer, before the T-Rex regained consciousness. After that, getting it back through the anomaly was easy, all it needed was to move the dinosaur off the crane and drive it a little way till they got to the anomaly and then chuck it through. The anomaly fortunately closed about two seconds after the crane returned, thus making sure no T-Rex came back through.

Sadly getting Connor out of the smashed control box wasn't as easy. It required liberal use of the Jaws of Life and a lot of complaining from Connor about his smashed hat. Apparently the T-Rex almost smashed Connor's head.

Ryan thought that he could protect Connor from the creatures, what he didn't take into account was Connor's own foolish actions. He was beginning to think that he should put Connor on a leash next time they go out on a mission. Maybe save him from going prematurely grey and having his heart stop every time Connor had 'an idea'.
