Saturday was Gospel Choir carolling at Grayson View (an assisted-living place near SU)--we were joined by a few people from Acts29, which was good as only five of us from GC went (not that we have much more than five). It was a good time, and Mary Kate had the wonderful foresight to make little construction-paper Christmas cards and give them to the residents after we sang to them. We could tell both the cards and the singing rather brightened up their day--and made us feel happy as well. The Acts people left before we did, as they were going somewhere else, and we stayed for about half-an-hour or so after they left. Then we had a little GC Christmas party which basically consisted of us watching A Charlie Brown Christmas and eating pizza. Good times.
Yesterday was the traditional reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas in Mellon Lounge. There was hot cocoa and cookies, the dogs from Dog Days were there (with little antlers), Christmas trivia and corny jokes were provided by the little Lemons (the President's children) as well as the VP's children, and carolling ensued. This was fun as there were a bunch of SAI girls as well as Chorale/Choir people--so there was harmony and descants. The highlight of the night was President Lemons reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas--sitting in an armchair and wearing pyjamas (including a dressing gown). It was an illustrated version, of course, so he showed us the pictures as well.

Finals progress:
*Psychology final (this morning)
*Arthurian Lit take-home (6-8 pages, due to-morrow by noon)
*Physics final (can be taken anytime this week--will be taking it to-morrow at 1 [the other two exams in this course took me 4 and 5 hours, respectively--hopefully this one takes me less time])
*Cell Biology take-home final (due Thurs--includes a frightening "make-up-your-own-problem-and-answer-it question)
*Cell Biology in-class final (Thurs at 11:30 . . . yes, we have two finals for this class--I'm hoping the take-home will pull up my grade, as I rather need it)
And then there will be the after-final fun of room-switching: Dana will be moving all her stuff out, I'll be moving all my stuff into Ash's old room, and Ash will be moving all her stuff into the room Dana and I had this semester. When Het comes back from Scotland next semester, she'll be moving all her stuff into the room with Ash. Dana will be in Scotland next semester--I'm going to miss my roomie. :( It will be quite interesting to have a single (decorating-wise and such) . . . though I'm not sure how much I'm going to like it.
In other news, I have further proof that Dr Jurcevic lives in his office: I went to drop off my homework after my 8:00 (*is not amused*--think Judi Dench in P&P or Shakespeare in Love) psych final, thinking I'd slip it into his mailbox thing. He was already there (and he never leaves his office until late at night--Jess, Dana, and I once called him after ten at night about homework once).
I have not sent out my Christmas cards yet, as there is studying to do and take-home exams to finish. I'm going home on Thursday, so I will try to send them out over the weekend--by Sunday at the latest. I do hope they get to you in time. And last call for cards: if I don't already have your address and you would like a card, please fill out my poll
here. It might be a good idea to comment on the post too, as I don't think it will notify me that you've filled it out.
(icon pluggage: to-day's icon brought to you by
nentaricons--my brain doesn't quite hurt yet, but it will by Thursday. Finals are not fun.)
