Well...there are HIPPA violations to be considered when revealing information, but the catch here is that parents were told *nothing* when we asked about the appearance of the police officer. They (the school board and their liaison) made it all worse by making it seem like they were hiding something. They were also very nasty and callous in their dismissal of parents' concern.

I think there would have been a lot less ruckus if we had been told the truth in the beginning rather than have to take it to the news media to get answers. It shouldn't have had to be that way. I know that, at least for myself, the credibility of any communications from the school or the school board is going to be tarnished and suspect from now on.

I'm not in agreement with the other parents though who want to run the teacher out on a rail. He made a "threat". What kind of threat? I mean, hell, did he threaten to kill the principal or just to kick her ass or what? These are facts that are still not publicly known.

Basically, we parents were denied pertinent information concerning our children's safety. For all we knew there could have been someone or a group having threatened to bomb the school and anxiety and anger grew. To be given no answers was wrong. To be given misleading information was even worse. I understand them wanting to protect the privacy of the teacher and principal involved. But for the parents...that's not our concern. Our children are.

Damn it, I wish my income were enough for private schools, but it isn't.

no kiddin... I would throw the cash out for private school when the time comes, but the $80 a month for preschool is harsh itself *sigh*
