It's been a while since my last update, and since I should either be sleeping or doing something useful (like packing or straightening my room) what better time is there for an update?
The big news right now is that we are finally going to be moving into the new house. Next weekend (well, technically starting Monday the 29th, but I'm moving things over next weekend since I'll be working when everything else is going to be moved). The house is awesome. I love EVERYTHING about it. I have a nice big room and a big walk-in closet; the kitchen is any cook's dream kitchen (maybe I'll be inspired to cook more often...maybe being the key word there) and just all the details my dad has put into this house makes it absolutely amazing. Megan and dad even made adjustments to the bathroom design to drop down the very long counter and turn it into a decent sized makeup vanity for me. No more sitting on my floor in my bedroom to get ready. lol.
Hmm, what else? I haven't yet scheduled to take the GRE. I don't really know what I'm waiting for. I should probably just sign up for a date and start studying my butt off. I started filling out an application for UWM's grad school, but I'm kind of resisting. I really want to move to GA. Much more than I did before. It's been 2 months since my trip to Charleston and Atlanta and I still feel kinda homesick for my family and friends down there. Lucky for me I'll be there in about a month!
I finally solidified my plans for my trip to Atlanta for Steph's wedding! She and Max are getting married August 1st and Megan and Dad bought my plane tickets as a birthday present. I can't wait to go down and see everyone again (which reminds me I have to start looking for presents for my nieces!). The best part of the trip is that I'm going to surprise my mom. My flight gets into Atlanta around 1:45 in the afternoon on a Friday. I plan on renting a car for the weekend, and figured I would just go straight from the airport to mom and dad's shop and surprise them there. I'm hoping I can find someone to snap a photo of mom's face the minute she realizes who I am. Normally I would ask someone who might be outside the shop...but unfortunately that location is crap. I'd be worried about someone taking off with my $300 camera. lol. But we'll see what I can work out...
I'm planning to take another trip this fall to visit my girl, Jessica. I'm expecting a settlement from CNA (the insurance company from my accident last summer) and Megan and I decided that I needed to put 1/2 towards my student loans and then I could spend the other 1/2. What better way to spend part of it than flying out to visit my best friend? I'm hoping to be out of M&I (or in a different position at M&I) by the time I get to planning this vacation. But who knows. I do know that I have some more vacation days due before the end of the year because of all the extra hours I picked up over the last 5 months. So hopefully my vacation to see her will be a paid vacation.
Speaking of work, I've been looking for a new job. I'm sick and tired of everything that happens at my branch and just really need to get out of there. I've been applying for things left and right, and it's really frustrating that I'm not getting any calls. I have a Bachelor's degree and it doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. I'm either not qualified enough or over qualified for these jobs, which sucks. I wanted to be working full-time by the time my grace period was up on my loans, and it doesn't look like that's going to happen (considering this is my final month in my grace period. I start paying back loans next month). Hopefully something will come up. I need a change in scenery, and I would like to find a job that has a set schedule. Something where I can work 9-5 Monday through Friday. That might sound boring to some people, but really that's what I want right now. I like boring. lol.
I'm off to the new house to help watch Zeke or help with whatever needs help in the house. I can't wait til all of this detail work is done and we're all packed up and moved. I'll be able to enjoy the new house and finally have a life again. lol.
