Silly fandom related post

You know, I was just thinking how much I'd really like to join Phoenix Wright/Apollo Justice fandom, but I've just can't do it. Yes, believe or not, I have played all four games, and loved them all very, very much (despite that whole...never talking about it online thing, hur hur). And not only that, I miss a lot of my online friends, and I know they're in the fandom. And I wish I had the will to write again. But there's just one reason why I haven't done all this: TEKKEN. Not surprising at all, huh?

Sounds weird? Lemme explain:

Nick and Miles look way too much like Kaz and Lee. Even though, like Nick looks exactly like Kaz, he's nothing like him, and Miles looks nothing like Lee, it's the same. And I'm afraid I'll bastardize my fanon Lee even more. Everyone tells me--or used to tell me back when I was writing Tekken fic--that my fanon Lee was incredible and just amazing. You know why that was, though? The Lee I write is actually super-imposed with...my version of Billy Lee Black from Xenogears, and it irritates me some. And I just know I'd just fuck up Lee even more by going into PW fandom :(. And my Kaz is already too nice...I have a feeling I'd just either start putting Nick into him, or the other way around, and Nick would just have a nasty mean streak if I ever were to start writing PW fic.

Though, I will say this: Miles probably acts more like Lee in canon, but whenever I get the energy to start up posting Tekken fic again--hopefully whenever I find someplace online that doesn't suck to post--I'd like to keep Lee the way I've been writing him. He's more interesting that way. And I can get away with it because of how he was written in the Tekken 3 manga, as opposed to the last few games. Lee's awesome in the manga: conflicted, aged, and he has stubble ;D. [/tangent about facial hair *cough cough*], as opposed to the womanizer he got turned into starting at Tekken 4. I'd like to say that's why I write Lee that way, because for awhile, that's where the canon was heading.

Blah, if only Tekken fandom would just suddenly come back to life again (I miss it dearly, I can't believe a game with a relatively large player base has such a dead fandom...it kills me!). Maybe when Tekken 6 hits home consoles, it'll be revived again...next year is the rumor now, though this summer was the guestimate up until a few months ago. Actually, it probably wouldn't help me, because of THIS.

DAMMIT, NAMCO!
