Really, since I only read the first book and saw three movie (the last two movies were completely by accident). No, please don't tell me to read the other six books. I did not like the first book, I did not like the movies I saw. And please PLEASE don't tell me HP only starts getting good during the fourth book--I've punched people in the face in real life for saying that to me.
Anyway, while I'm still emonizing over my (lack of) career and my hate of DHHS/CMS/Medi-whatlolz?!?!?!?!!!!!, I've decided I need...inspiration. I think my art's kinda stale again. And while that sounds depressing, I'm actually excited about looking into new things. Maybe changing my palette again, starting to do more with perspective and all. Definitely backgrounds and designing costumes again. I'd actually kinda like to do a graphic novel, despite my qualms with the comic industry. Maybe do Lolita or Anna Karenina. Or A Seperate Peace. It'd take awhile to do the Tolstoy book, though I think I could manage the other two books within a reasonable amount of time. But it wouldn't be something to sell, just something to work on panels and backgrounds.
Oh, and finally got the full version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Goddamn, that game is hard, even with the extras I got for beating the demo. But either way, I'm enjoying it. I'm not playing games nearly as much as I used to. Usually, that's a sign that I'm starting to get depressed. I'm actually hoping it's more a shift in interest, but I seriously doubt it.
Then I read this book called
A Good and Happy Child. It was...okay. Certainly read better, but I've read worse. The ending was a cop-out and screamed "SEQUEL!", though I can' imagine what the sequel would be like...it'd be rather dull. I'm kinda pissed off I paid for that :\
Finally, Thursday, I went to Kwality Komics...the only locally owned comic book store we have left in town. My favorite store, Mass Street Comics finally closed down. I'm still really sad about that. It was well-lit, well-stocked, it was the first place in town to start stocking manga and other Japanese imports, and everyone that worked there was nice. So, after that, I just starting buying comics at large chain bookstores. So, trying to be a good neighborhood patron, I decided to check out this store. It...smelled like semen and weed. I stayed a whole minute before gagging and leaving.
