augustine asked me who my favorite author is, so I thought I'd share my response here as well:
Tolkien, with CS Lewis coming in very closely at second. It's because of Tolkien's works that I love writing as I do. When I first read Fellowship of the Ring, I knew I wanted to write. His writing style was so beautifully descriptive, and the story was so wonderfully crafted together that it inspired me to try to write. However, growing up reading The Chronicles of Narnia helped grow my imagination, which is a very valuble thing in a child. I think it's very important for children to use their imaginations and want to learn and create, and that's becoming so rare now, with most children spending free time just watching tv or playing video games. So both Tolkien and Lewis have had great impacts on my life, and between the two of them, have written my favorite fiction books.
