Websites are just a part of our lives now. They're in everything. For a company, movie, restaurant, or event to not have a website, it might as well not exist. When you see a commercial for anything, they probably list the website. When you hear a commercial for something, they tell you the website.
Here's my issue. A website goes like this: www dot fillintheblank dot com/org/edu/whatever. I have honestly never seen a website that doesn't start with www. It could go without saying, but it never does. What's confusing me is what does go without saying. That first dot! I have heard about twenty different commercials/promos for websites where they say "www fillintheblank dot com". Listen, if you want to drop the dot, you might as well drop the www. If you're not going to do that, then say the friggin' dot! The address isn't going to work without it!
