people are enchanted by a quintisential new york moment: two bruhkliites, a guy singing sinatra in to a kareoke machine while( the scully to his mulder) his quiet kooky neighbour tap dances and the non event becomes a nightly block party.

but its not a quintisentially new york moment. its a perfect scene to fit in to a charming new york style movie. these peoples shtick is emulation of a fantasy version of their own city and culture, the legends they've embraced from so many movies where alternate reality versions of themselves did fantastic things in front of easily recognizable local landmarks.
