The art they Make in Canadia

Art Keeps Bi Polar Manic Depressives with OCD alive !!!
and it gets new bicycles for Border Personality Disorder Schitzo-typals recovering addicts.

If you hadn t figured it out years ago, let me now out myself: I am a mentally unstable, canadian born, member of a very very troubled Society family. Whinig about my family is not what this entry is about but I am involved in a 2 month long performance piece on meditations of the self as defined by family and family as an enviroment and philosophy. its all grandpa, actually. Grandpa George henry built himself an enviable little empire and the bunch of us are still living off of him now 17 yeasr after hewent in to the grave. You see, he was a shrewd, ruthless man of ambition and and he ensured his own rise by harvesting every opertunity that passed him with wits like a scyth. a Skyth honed white hot sharp by a child hood amongst a litter of hard working vegetable farmers. Long storey short, this autumn the Velmez are living off of art. Mommys nervous impulsive life style nessesitrates a huge monthly expense account and this year has been funded off of the sale of her bungalow and the familys entire collection of GROUP OF SEVEN paintings. actually we only had half a dozen A Y JACKSONs. and a few other artists who were apprenticed to the group7. the Jacksons were aquired by Grandpa GH during the 30s-40s. AY himself was just a poor struggling artist at the time and sold his work along Sparks street bussiness district, every few months when he'd emerge from his art hermitage up north. GH picked up a few score of his work, buying Jackson canvases at $20 each as an indulgence for himself to celebrate his solidly rising wealth and power at the time. In fact he struck up a business friendship with jackson and GH left behind a large art collection when he left. Mommy unloaded the jacksons this spring and reaped in about $20000 which she then spent almost imediately on organic groceries and hair cair products and therapy.

Lurking the saw gallery (i used to do performance art events here in the early 90s)- during the Divergence Movie night. An Indie film night semi monthly with lots of queer content run by Caitlin CyberKitty, the woman who fullfills my Hanging-ou-with-DJs-and-fabulous-people-addiction and takes me out to well sumptuous restaurants.

2 painters started their own art supply store. 10 years later a large art supply chain is open right next door to them and so they changed in to a full time gallery. I showed here a few times a decade ago. i left 20 painting with them and never fully inquired about what ever happened to them.....

I lost all the pictures of the art school i went to

La Petite Morte

Some time in the last 11 years Ott city actually got a Low-Brow-Outsider gallery with shock performance artist guest cameos !!

These pix are from a show that charged $15 admission to the opening but i bummed money off my mom and talked them down to $10... and then the drinks wern't even free and there were a bunch of twits in there. but the art was lovely (admission was a mandatory donation to alzhiemers)and the performers were darling to meet, including Nico the froggy and Mikiki the 7 foot tall bald shock performance art drag queen.

Pastels of strippers and clients.

$40-$100

If i was gonna show anywere in my home town it would be at morte.
it would take some lurking about to research but the only call for submissions they have right now is rent the gallery for a day for $100
at leasat they are demonstratable business minded.

don't tell them that i stole a big block of cheese from the wine lady upon exiting.
