Mon. 1 March 2010
The last day of my last two day weekend. As we prepare for the end of winter, we lose the luxury of two days off in a row until next winter, barring schedule requests. Two massage clients combined with day one of new pain medication left me completely exhausted and unable to attend the lecture I have been looking forward to since last fall: Temple Grandin on the ethical raising of animals for meat production. *sigh* Beating myself up for not going, but I had a good night with my niece, watching Harry Potter extras. We discussed future plans of travel to Florida to go to the soon-to-be-unveiled Harry Potter theme park. We also watched "J.K. Rowling: A Year In the Life" which I think was good for her in terms of seeing other adults lives and what they do for work. Tomorrow I will begin to broach the topic of five-year goals. Third quarter ends for her on Wednesday, and I fear her grades will not have shown improvement.
