Tonight I am doing Dinner in a Country Village, a program where people come and hearth-cook a full meal while staff facilitate. Appetizers: Potted Cheese and Mulled Cider. First Course: Onion Soup and Butter Biscuits. Second Course: Fricassee Chicken, Roast Beef, Par-Boiled Carrots with drippings from the Beef, Turnip Sauce, Stewed Beets, Hot Slaw, Marlborough Pudding and Sparkling Cider. Third Course: Trifle with Fresh Whipped Cream, Coffee with Freshly Roasted Beans. I'm sure I am forgetting things.... Photographer from the Boston Globe coming tonight to, well, photograph. This means I will be working part of the evening with no glasses on. It could get exciting.
