Sisterhood

After she hit me, I put Charlotte in her room for a time-out. She was crying and screaming. Usually I wait a few minutes and then go in and talk things out with her, but today Elise beat me to it.

"I need to go talk to Charlotte. She's very loud," she announced, and trotted off to Charlotte's room.

She returned a moment later.

"Did you talk to Charlotte?" I asked.

"Yes. She said, 'Can I have a tissue?'" And with that Elise clambered up onto the toy kitchen, leaned over the counter, grabbed a tissue, clambered down again, and trotted back to Charlotte's room.

I followed, entering Charlotte's room just in time to see Elise handing the tissue to Charlotte. "Here you are, Charlotte. No more tissues."

"Thank you," Charlotte sniffled, and took the tissue.

They don't always get along, but I'm glad they're friends when it matters.
