Upside of Charlotte being in school: new friends, lots to learn academically and socially, daily excitement and joy ("Why is school only five days a week, Mama?")
Downside of Charlotte being in school: it's very difficult to find a pediatrician who takes appointments after 4:00. *sigh* She's two months overdue already for her four-year-old wellness check, but at this rate I can't see how she's going to get one until Christmas break at the earliest. Alas.
Elise will get a check-up, though! In November. She's been due for one since May, which is even more embarrassing than Charlotte's situation considering that it is actually possible to find a time during the week that works for her. Oh, well. At least she has an appointment now.
Also, I scheduled a wellness check for myself for the first time in my adult life (unless you count pregnancy-related check-ups --which in retrospect perhaps you should-- in which case first time in 2 years, which is hardly any time at all in wellness check-up time), and naturally they don't have anything late (or obscenely early) for adults either, so I'm going to have to bite the bullet and play hooky for a few hours --er, "take vacation time"-- to do it, which makes me feel ashamed and guilty on top of wimpy, but even though I'm pretty sure my 22+/30 days every month of intermittent dizziness/nausea/ exhaustion/headaches is just my hormones' way of saying "don't forget about us!" part of me thinks I should double-check, just in case I'm secretly afflicted by some sinister ailment.
(This is where all of you other females chime in and say "nope, no sinister ailment; daily dizziness and nausea is just part of our womanly charm," so that I can rest assured in my normality, cancel the appointment, and go to work like a responsible employee.)
Speaking of being a responsible employee, I'm going to go make a worksheet now. It will be about Mesopotamia, which is a fascinating place to study even if they *did* invent doctors' appointments.
time off,
why are pediatricians' working hours are,
doctor appointments
