A story in which Aragorn requires Elrond's healing skills while in Gondor, after Aragorn is made king but before Elrond heads back to Rivendell and eventually sails.

What a terrific idea.

Febobe had a tiny ficlet from this time period she wrote long ago... it made me long for more!

But then, we know I'm insatiable!

I remember my teensy humor ficlet about Elrond having a cold in Minas Tirith, but it would be nice for Aragorn to need a bit of tending. Too bad I couldn't have brought Elrond into my "Keep Him Secret, Keep Him Safe" fic!

That darned Elrond... he should have shown up earlier! Oh wait--he does in the movie version of ROTK! But then leaves again quickly... that's one movie part I never quite "got," I have to admit.

I would have enjoyed seeing Elrond in "Keep Him Secret," but the fic was pretty danged marvelous as it was, so I didn't miss him. :)

Glad to hear from you!!!!!!

Oh man, it's a BAD BAD prison. I'll be picturing sweet Frodo in there. :) But he absolutely HAS to have a ranger come rescue him from such an awful place!

I was lying in bed last night and thinking about how much I miss being here more on LJ. It's not lack of want to be here... I guess it's just a lack of time. But I'll try to do better! *smooches*

It never seems to come on the cable channels... so I just decided to get it on Netflix. I have such a tough time finding RECENTLY made movies I enjoy, it seems.

Oh wow, Elrond treating Aragorn in M.T., that's an interesting idea... be tricky to figure out how to do it but I'm sure it could be done. :) I might tuck that idea away for a future looksee! Right now I'm woefully neglecting poor Bowen (writer's block because I know exactly where to take the story but I am so not ready to go there. *sigh*

So I'm drowning my feels in Winter Soldier at the moment, trying to screw up my courage. That... and trying to find time to write while my kid is home for the summer is... challenging. So who knows, maybe a dive into Aragorn h/c might help!

*hugs*

Of course a dive into Aragorn h/c will help! :) And that is TRULY wishful thinking on my part! What I wouldn't give to see a story from you set in that time.

I guess I like the dynamic of Aragorn being king, and married to Arwen, and yet having to rely on Elrond's healing skills... maybe it's his vulnerability when he should be least vulnerable, or maybe it's the fact that after his marriage to Arwen, I feel his relationship with Elrond may not have been as close, and so I want to see that dynamic and closeness. I don't know... I just know I haven't seen a hurt/comfort heavy fic of that sort that I can remember.

It could happen... Aragorn could get himself into all sorts of troubles, or catch all manner of disease in that new place, lol!

Oh yes, I hope this inspires you!!! *HUGS HUGS*

You know, there's more than enough time between A&A's marriage and Elrond finally leaving M-e to fit in a good h/c that requires Elrond's care...

Hmmm... hmmm.. hmmm..................

MORE than enough time. And well... just imagine what Aragorn could get into... or illness he could contract... the possibilities!

After his marriage to Arwen, I wonder if he'd feel more like a "son-in-law" than a son... it would be an interesting dynamic, and maybe awkward for a bit. Of course I love the discomfort he might initially feel.

Oh, the beautiful possibilities... :) I really, REALLY hope that you're inspired!!!!

Spoiler for Papillon grey_wonderer June 23 2014, 11:21:48 UTC
I've seen it, Papillon, that is. It is excellent!
I still cringe when I think about the eating of the bugs. *shiver* It's a great prison film.
Have you seen "The Bird Man Of Alcatraz"? That's a good, older prison film too.
I also like "The Longest Yard" which is a prison film and a football film. Strange combo, but good once you get to the prison part.
My favorite prison film is still "Shawshank Redemption" though.
