That was... interesting.
So,something a few of you might be interested in:
I saw Cobra Starship last night at the Clubhouse in Tempe, which is a pretty small venue. I arrived after the Cab played (I passed one of the ones that
anasuede posted a picture with on the way in, actually), but I was within four people of the stage by the time Cobra went on. Which, by the way, I really liked Metro Station, despite the fact that their tattooed and spiderbite-pierced bass (I think?) player reminds me of one of my sister's douche-y ex boyfriends.
ANYWAY, and more importantly: toward the end Gabe tried to stage dive but failed and ended up on the floor (with the tiny teenage girls he landed on). I couldn't see what was happened after he jumped - he just disappeared into the crowd and stayed down for a good thirty seconds at least. At first I thought maybe it was maybe for show, but the looks on Ryland and Vicky T's faces were really worried, and the crowd around him looked freaked out as fuck. He was okay, and the band played another couple songs after that, but the whole thing was seriously disturbing. When they came back out Ryland said "he's ok, he just forgot who he is," or something to that effect.
