Ok, I'd like to confess a couple of things: This is my favorite AU ever (except for my other favorites) because they are all activists, and in Boston, and Joey is a feminist, and Justin is vegan, and. just. wow. Also, I totally thought that the guy that Justin hooked up with was an original character until about five minutes ago, when I was perusing k8's website and realised that it says right there, in black and white (or maybe its blue) "Justin/Nelly" and I was like 'um...huh.' yes.
The Haircuts - Slang term for certain members of the freak community, typically Mods. Can be affectionate: One Mod to another in the wilderness, "Look! In the distance! I see Haircuts!" Or very much not affectionate: "Ug. Look at the Haircuts. They think that gets them a membership card?"

the infamous bikemessenger!AU. it contains the line "books are sexy." what more do you want?
And okay, so it didn't work out the last time she set Justin up. Britney sighs and finishes sealing envelopes. In fact, it was a disaster and she still feels guilty eight months later. But, Lance is different, she's only known him for a month, but he's a good guy, just a little conservative. Justin can fix that and then everyone will feel better. Britney's sure of it, so she emails Lance.
Cancel all your plans for Friday night. Your presence has been requested. Come chat for further details. - Brit
Britney watches the clock. It takes Lance twelve minutes to show up at her desk.

Think Bridget Jones's Diary, but with JC, and factor in that the page title is "am not crazy like pigeon boy." it is, as you might expect, fall-out-of-your-seat-laughing-and-then-people-stare-and-you-are-gasping-for-breathe hilarious.
I down one of the shots, the coffee'd one, of course. "I kinda wish we hadn't done it," I confessed. "I mean it was good, like, really good, but-"
"DON'T! I don't want to hear it." Chris puts up a hand, pressing it lightly against my chest. "No Lance-and-you-boning-each-other stuff, ok. Whatever you do, do. not. mention. ze. dick."
I shrug. "Ok."
He downs a vodka'd vodka, then peers up at me. "But were you to mention it, would it be about how huge it is or just very pathetically tiny or, like, it being curved weirdly, or how he has balls like watermelons."
I lift an eyebrow. "Watermelons?"
"Really? I was just guessing."
So, yes, Chris is straight. He's obsessed with Lance's balls on a purely intellectual level.

"Wait," Joey said. "Wait. Jammies? What are we, twelve?"
"Jammies are a slumber party tradition," Justin said firmly, and Nick almost saw the calculations whirl through his brain before he started to pout. "It's not like I had the chance to experience it the first time 'round, pulled out of school at sixteen to join you freaks."
Joey snorted, unimpressed. "You hacked into the Olympic computers, Jup. Luxembourg was the new world power in swimming when you were done."
"I was just helping them out a little, they're an unloved, underappreciated country. Like me, really, 'cause it's my birthday and all I want is a slumber party and you fucks won't let me."

This series is amazing and scary and....really long. Dont start it if you dont have a couple of weeks to devote to it (it took me 14 days, reading maybe 12hrs a day (no sleep), and I read fast.).
