as someone who has Pride and Prejudice down pretty much by heart, it's wonderful to see how another Austen work gets picked up again in our society...even if it's mere coincidence!
Her language is so beautiful that it makes me laugh to see the character names inserted there...wonderful proposition!
Thanks! I know, isn't Jane Austen simply wonderful? I don't believe it's any more than coincidence, but she wrote so well that her themes can't help but be picked up again and absorbed into things like this. Actually, I think Jane Austen would have liked The Office. Like her work, it deals with the everday, and adds just a bit more romance than we actually get in daily life.
I'm in a JA book club where we've slowly been picking apart Persuasion. I've been making comparisons to Jim/Pam with them for a while, but unfortunately none of them really watch so I've taken to keeping them in my book journal for my own amusement. Thank you for doing this with the scenes from the book. So good!
Thanks! I posted this to the community because almost no one I know would have any idea what I was talking about, so I know how you feel about making comparisons for your own amusement. :)
