I came to the same conclusions about Snape not being evil and actually having good intentions in killing Dumbledore. But I'm a lot more excited about that theory now that I have read that other guy's prediction that one of your respondees posted. Because I hadn't gone the extra step to assuming that Snape was reading Dumbledore's mind through legilimens and then the logical conclusions about the facil expressions of Snape and the freak out about being called a coward. Although I did assume that with the facial expression of revulsion (what I considered to be my biggest obstacle to Snape's having good intentions if he did indeed detest Dumbledore) that JKR was using that to fool us like she has done in past books knowing that the reader will draw the same conclusions as Harry, but not necessarily the correct conclusions. Although, I was eager to look for an excuse for Severus to actually be good because he has always been my favorite character and I adore him.
The idea of Snape having to convince Harry that he is not evil is interesting to me because I always thought of that the other way--I have always imagined Harry proving to Severus that Harry is not evil, or bad, or whatever. But yeah, and vice versa, but still that's just what I focused on. They'll have to prove it to each other possibly. Can't wait for the next book! But sadly I must. -Kelly btw, love you HP icons!
