is it august already?

where does the time go?

so tomorrow will be my last official day interning at the law firm.  i can't say it was an exciting experience, but i do feel that i've learned a lot (or as much as i can given no legal background).  researching court cases, meeting with clients, writing letters to attorneys, summarizing court depositions, and editing numerous contracts and agreements have all helped me in some way.  coming into the internship, i thought i would pursue corporate law with no intention of becoming a litigator, but now, i don't think i will be ruling out other fields of law and will definitely look into litigation.

summer is winding down and sooner than later, school will once again be in session (at least for all the semester kids).  once fall semester begins, we will officially be college juniors.  half of our college years is already over. done with. finished.  this realization came to me as i was helping my cousin list out all of the necessities she will be needing for her freshman year in the dorms (and btw, she will also join the cal family. woot woot).  as she sets out her own college path, we juniors will be walking down ours.  the past two years have affected all of us in ways we probably can't see or feel now, but all of this is meant to matter somewhere down the road.

i'm not sure whether to be excited about this next semester or dread it.  some pros include me being a junior, living the apartment life with my new roommates, being a declared ps major, having more friends who will have cars now =) , and finally settling into berkeley.  however, some cons include me being a junior, not getting into some of the classes i wanted, having to deal with a messed up schedule due to a crappy registration appointment time, having to cook, missing friends who won't be coming back and those living farther away, and only having two years left at berkeley (which is also a hopefully having only two years left). btw, if i haven't said it before, it's been confirmed this summer that i will be able to study abroad for the spring semester in 2008.  but wow, the paperwork is a bitch.  so many of my friends are abroad right now in england, japan, hong kong, and south africa, and i hope i can have as much fun as they have when i go.

this summer has been one of my better summers to date.  those of you who know me well know that i love (or not so much love as me feeling compelled) to make lists of things to do.  and this summer, i've been able to cross off many of my listed items to buy, things to do, places to go, and people to see.  and crossing things off is one of the best damn feelings in the whole wide world.

on a side note, on sunday, august 5, my cousin gave birth to a baby girl!  i'm so excited to see my little niece!

it's been fun and relaxing and i really don't want to leave for school, but i guess that's how the world works.

see you all in a bit.
