Chapter 05:
Yunho laid in his bed, eyes closed, soft breathing, but in his mind were indistinguishable thoughts of fear and constant worry. Jaejoong had rushed out after daring him to prove his love, leaving him with his confused thoughts and whatnot. Changmin knew it was his time to leave when Yunho had bowed his head down, deep in thought, and eyes staring at a far away place, dull and weary. He needed to think over his actions from the past couple weeks. Christmas was just two days away, and yet he felt like the world was abducting him of loved ones. Tis’ the season to be jolly his ass. A hand lingers over his forehead as he ponders upon the recent happenings. Jaejoong left him. Jaejoong came to Japan. And Jaejoong doubted his love and faithfulness. He wonders what kind of jackass he had been to have it have turned out like this.
The constant ringing of his phone caused him to escape from his little mind game as he reached over from his bed and towards the ringing phone.
“Yunho-sshi, we need you back in Korea, a situation has happened here that needs your presence. We’ve already set up a plane ticket and your flight leaves in an hour.” A voice said before abruptly hanging up and leaving Yunho cursing out loud and hurriedly packing his belongings. Just as he was rushing about the hotel room in such a manner, Changmin walked in and gave him a questioning look.
“Hyung…?”
“Can’t talk now Min, work, Korea, keep Jae here for me, thanks, Bye” he mumbled all at once leaving the poor boy to smack his forehead against the wall. What in damnation is the world trying to do to his poor hyungs!? Rip them apart until they’re on different sides of the universe? He turned on his heel while rubbing his forehead and ran after Yunho.
“Hyung- how long do you think you’ll be gone?”
“I don’t know Min, but I’ll try to come back when I can, wait for me.”
“I can’t guarantee anything, you know Jae hyung.”
“Please, I really need this.” His eyes pleaded with sincerity, fear, and a mix of other emotions.
“I’ll do what I can; good luck with the company, and seriously, move that office of yours.”
“Will do!”
Changmin barely heard the last lines escaping Yunho’s lips as the latter rushed off to his private jet, he needed to get back home.

Jaejoong rushed home, eyes brimmed with tears as he slams the door to his apartment and falls down to his knees. Tears rushed from his eyes as sobs escapes from deep inside. His heart wrenches in undeniable pain as his breathing becomes labored and he feels like he’s paralyzed with pain. He closes his eyes, as if his soul was succumbing to darkness and letting what little hope within him fade away as if it was a façade in the first place. With dwindling hope, Jaejoong hugged his knees closer to his chest and cried the evening away until slumber claimed his soul to peace, even if tomorrow was just another day in hell.
Jaejoong…Jaejoong…Jaejoong…his eyes open distinctively to the surrounding around him, it was like an old movie theater in the middle of nowhere before him. He noticed there were no stars in the night sky, no moon to illuminate a certain pathway, however, what he could not understand was, if this was total darkness, why is it that he could see him? See the place in front of him? The thoughts scrambled as they had come. His feet begin walking on their own and closer towards the grand theater. Each step being heavier as if being tied down by strings of fate, he looks back, and there are chains on his feet and arms, a chain through his heart. His eyes widen in fear and disbelief as he tries to grasp onto the chain through his heart, though to no avail, nothing happens, he can’t touch it, but he can feel it, as if the world from inside his mind were weighing down on him, trapping him and tying him keep within the oncoming falsehood of his denial in hate.
He screams, cries, and yells. Help me…Help Me…someone…don’t leave me alone, I don’t want to be alone.
Then he opens his eyes and reaches forward to grasp only to be meet with air. It was a dream, only a dream. He pulls back his hands and looks at it, white as snow, and filled with sweat of fear. He’s alone. Alone on such a season filled with love and warmth. He however, had a chance, one chance, to take everything he threw away and catch them again, until…until that is, he falls alone into an underlying pit of the seventh hell. His hand reaches up to his hair, giving it a jostle before standing up to only trip over and fall. He blacks out.

“Changmin…what do we do…?!” Heechul’s frantic voice echoed through the thin walls of the apartment as he paced back and forth trying to figure out what to do.
“We do nothing. There’s nothing left for us to do, did you not hear Yunho-hyung?!” Changmin said, his voice betraying the words that were spewing out of his mouth like water out of a fountain.
“Hyung’s in Korea, Jaejoong is here, and we’re helpless idiots who can only watch two of our most precious loved ones kill each other?!”
“If you believe in them, as much as I do, then we do nothing. We just have to have hope.”
“I agree with Changmin.” Yoochun finally voiced an opinion as Heechul spun to catch his tired eyes.
“We’ve done what we could for them, and how they interpret the next few days is their own choice, not ours.”
“Yoochun’s right. We can’t do anything. We’re helpless, but not so. We can stand and support them, just being here is enough for Yunho and Jae hyung.”
“If dolphin boy is right, then I’ll give them until Christmas, if everything goes wrong, I’m taking over. Got that?”
“Sure. Sure.”

The day passed by with not much to do, Jaejoong spent it at the bakery like always and tried to avoid the swirling thoughts in his head as he kneaded the dough while powdering it with small pinches of flour. Yunho. Yunho. Yunho. All that was going through his head was how he didn’t think correctly first, did he really see what he saw? Yesterdays were vague; he felt guilty for the shock within him. Overwhelmed by his guilt for doubting Yunho’s faithfulness and love. He wonders….if Yunho would forgive him. Under the pressure, all he wanted was an escape route, but from what? The thought process led to something alternative when the smell of something burning diverted him from his thoughts.
“Oh No! The cookies!” he dashes to the over and grabs the pan without putting on the gloves first.
“Oww!” a loud scream escapes from his lips as he hurriedly drops the pan onto the counter.
“Jaejoong-kun, everything ok in there?”
“Ah- just burnt cookies- everything else is ok!” Jaejoong lied through his teeth, but he didn’t want to worry his boss for the last thing on his mind was to get sent home and think even more upon the things he just did. He went to go rinse his hands and endure the burning coal of pain as he bit his lips to keep the grunts from escaping his throat. Yunho was a bad case that he realized he may have to get over soon or else he’ll be stuck in a deep pit of nothingness and absurdity.

“Yunho! Yunho-ah!” her voice trailed from into one ear and out the other. Yunho on the other hand heard nothing as he stared into the white ceiling above his head. The white void in a world that barely any one notices.
“YUNHO-SSHI!” her shrill voice shocks him as he falls backwards on his chair; tipping it over and landing him with a loud thump on the ground.
“Sorry~!” her voice calls out as she runs over to help him up and pats the invisible dirt off of him, something that usually his boo would do for him.
“Did you need something? And I’m sorry, I was the one who dazed off.” Yunho’s apology was lacking the sincerity, telling his secretary he was still as distant as he was the day she found out the office’s favorite couple were having trouble.
“I just wanted to say your plans for Christmas have been cancelled and the plans for tomorrow have been initiated, your plane leaves tonight Yunho-sshi.”
“Ah- thank you!. I’ll be off then. See you in a week’s time”
