Hiking

Recently I've been going mad in the mind having not spending enough time being outside and free. Sometimes engaging socially for me can be exhausting. I'd like to dedicate more time to hiking, but sometimes I also don't feel like getting out. I also have this fear of hiking alone, but I'm trying to over come this fear because honestly I can't really find that many people out there who enjoy hiking, or have time the same time as I do to go hiking.

Anyway, here at the base of the Verdugo mountains, I never realized how many trails there are easily accessible to me. I also have a nack for hiking up mountains... there is something that feels so rewarding about working so hard to climb something so high, it reminds me that as a single lone human being that we can achieve unimaginable things when we set our mind to it.

A few weekends ago I decided to get out and go beyond my comfort zone. I went out to spend some alone time, to reflect, focus, and rejuvenate myself by hiking up in Wildwood Canyon. The trail is actually pretty steep and a lot more steep that I had expected, but it was worth it. Everyone along the trail was very friendly, and even one guy at the very top of the Vital Link trail congratulated me on climbing up the hardest trail in the area, welcomed me to the Verdugo hills and talked a bit about the trail system up there. I look forward to when I can hike up there again. Hopefully I can fit something in sometime soon.

A panoramic view; it was a clear day. If you look hard enough you could see Downtown Los Angeles on the left, and Catalina island.

Proof that I made it to the top; pics or it didn't happen right?

i loved how gnarly this tree is; i think it might be a manzanita?

One of many comm towers; can you spot the moon?

Alright, off to run errands for the day. Hopefully it won't take all day long.
