The Vintage Look

Marty and Me
Originally uploaded by lilusako. So, after tiki wonderland... I was regretting as I was leaving that I had just spent $250 on vintage dresses.

Sherri looked at me disapprovingly and said, "Don't feel bad. What you did was buy dresses for you, that you'll be wearing them over and over again and will love every single moment of it"

I really love that Sherri always pushes me to think more positively of myself, my outlook on the situation, and is never angry at me for it.

She thanked me for coming out, and my brain automatically thought of, "Thanks for coming out and bringing LA Weekly with you." but before that thought finished crossing my mind Sherri interrupted and said, "No. Thank you for bringing yourself." and reminded me how much everyone has missed me. That's what I really love about the Tiki community though, I feel more at home with the new friends I've made. They don't judge me based on what I like, Who I am, or what connections I've got. They like me because I'm me. I've always felt comfortable around all my tiki peers and many will go out of their way to make sure that it stays that way.

Besides that though... I'm loving that I'm getting into this vintage look and style. Normally I never talk about my self image but the dress that I wore on Saturday, hot damn am I fucking hot. I also loooooove my ass!

okay end the feeling great moment. :)

One more photo to share of one of my new acquired dresses from Stop Staring!

Also noting, January 22 will be a book reading at the Tonga Hut for the new book that Eric and Scott collaborated in putting together. Saving the date!
