Getting into the Spirit...

It's really hard to try and get into the Christmas spirit sometimes when there have been years and years of sad moments and memories in the past. Though, it's been really nice being around others who have made the holidays a bit more cheerful than they are at home. I'm hoping with all of my heart that this year won't be as depressing as it was last year.

My back is continuing to hurt like hell. This really is the first time I've ever experienced such excruciating pain in my lower back. I know it's not from spinning, as it has helped alleviate the pain after class, but it also isn't from any physical trauma either. Perhaps I slept on it wrong? Though it's been a few days now since the pain has begun.

To get into the spirit of the winter holidays I went with my knitting club out to go look at lights. We went and got hot chocolate and made our trek out in search of lights out in the Pasadena area. We went to the historical Christmas Tree Lane, The Balian House, The Hastings Ranch neighborhood and St. Albans Street in San Marino. Unfortunately Christmas Tree lane and the Balian house didn't have all of their lights up nor were they lit (or fully lit). The Hastings Ranch Neighborhood doesn't official start till the 11th of December, but we managed to view a few houses that already had theirs up. At least we didn't have to deal with the traffic.

Last of all, was St. Albans road, and it was a nice end to our adventure. The lights were up, and we almost accidentally missed the road and once we came upon it we all gasped in the car at how beautiful it was. Such ancient trees decked in simple yet beautiful lights.

After the trip out for lights, I hopped on over to Villans tavern to spend some time in celebrating Jenny's birthday. There were some good drinks, delicious meat ball mini sammiches, and some good company. Though I must say I'm glad to be heating my back (thanks neku_niku for loaning me her heat pack) and helping me ease into bed.

It was a good night tonight and tomorrow will be a bright new day.
