Brian made Strange Things Happen for Christmas...

Well it's Christmas eve and honestly I'm not exactly sure when I'll be posting on LJ again. I seem to not post as often as I'd like to. But the past weekend it's been a bit more unusual... I guess my Christmas festivities started back on Friday. After work I went to visit Brian's family and met them in Fullerton to see Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. I had never seen it and was rather entertained. On the way home we made a quick drive through to Pepe's because I had been craving a breakfast burrito for weeks now.

I was told I'd be spending the night at Brian's before heading up to my place the next day, only to walk into the house, settle things down and stare at this bike sitting in the living room by the tree. Brian dragged me over to the Christmas Tree, looked over at me and said, "Merry Christmas" and gave me a kiss. I sort of stood in disbelief thinking it was a joke before everything sort of settled in my head and when everything finally made sense that yes he and his family really did get me a bike for Christmas. I started crying (since i'm the sensitive type like that) uncontrollably for a little bit just overwhelmed and surprised. He told me that he remembered me saying that once I moved to Burbank that I wanted to get a bike so I could ride the bike to Trader Joes and around town rather than having to walk or drive. The thought had been stuck in his mind that he hasn't forgotten! So soon after moving into my room I will have a corner for my bike to ride around town, it even has gears on it! Not only that but I also got a really awesome bag from his sister that is the perfect size for over night visits and a Tea Mug that reads: Serenitea: n. the absence of stress while drinking tea.

Saturday we took our time heading up to the bay area, having to do quite a few chores (like packing for the both of us) and we stopped by Portos Bakery for some baked goods. We didn't leave Burbank until about 4PM and slowly made our way up the 5. We got out of the grape vine a-ok but we were amazed and astonished by the snow! We stopped in Kettleman City like I always do, and we stopped at Pea Anderson's in Santa Nella for dinner. We took 152 over to Gilroy and the new over ramp project they had worked on before was compleated! I freaked out excitedly for a few minutes watching cars drive over it. I can't wait to drive over it on the way back (arn't I a nerd?). Also, while joking about not seeing any Sonic's around we passed through Gilroy and Brian says, "Hey... does that sign really read what I think it's says?" to which we looked over our left hand side to see a HUGE ASS SONICS in the middle of Gilroy. By huge we mean TWO double sided drive in, an outside sitdown eatery area, AND AND AND *drum roll* a freaking drive through. That's DOUBLE the size of the Orange County location. Funniest shit ever. We made it home safe and sound!

Sunday we went to the Dicken's Faire! I had so much fun taking him. For it being the very last day it was REALLY packed. Far too many people in London. There weren't any more tickets to French Postcards which bummed me out quite a bit. But we got to catch the final showing of The saucy Ladies' Oratorical and Recreational Society and their dirty dirty songs. We played with the Lemon Roll, stared at hot sexy models in the Dark Garden window display, bought garlic jars at Lodema's shop, and putted around for quite some time. I bought Brian a brown top hat to hopefully go with his Edwardian outfit for the Edwardian ball, and some tea. I bought tea for myself as well. :D In the evening we went out to dinner with my Parents at Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot in San Mateo. Despite Brian being a picky eater at times, he ate practically everything.... even tofu skin! Though he did manage to avoid the oyster mushrooms and ate everything else (Mongolian kimchee, daikon, beef tribe, lamb... what a strange boy) holy cow was it an awesome dinner! Very yummy soup broth!

We expected Monday to be a rainy day which actually didn't happen. So plans to be safe from rain got foiled by it not raining. I felt bad that I couldn't take Brian to SF instead because we had anticipated rain, and well we made plans with jas777 to go to the Winchester House. We did the big big tour that included the Mansion tour and the behind the scenes tour. It was really fun and glad that they were able to see something new. Afterwards we went to Santana Row and ate over at The Counter which has really good sweet potato fries (which Brian amazingly ate too). I had a really tasty burger. There was a cupcake store over at Santana Row... i wanted cupcakes but avoided it and prevented Brian from surprising me with cupcakes.

However Monday evening was far more unexpected and surprising. After dropping jas777 over at the BART station, we got a call from my Parents, they wanted to get a small real life christmas tree. Was my ear not hearing this straight, a real... a real christmas tree? that smells all nice and is green... and doesn't look like a bottle brush opener? yup. you betcha. We went searching for a few places and ended up at Home Depot on a cold night, Mom, Dad, Brian and I. Brian helped us pick out a tree because well we didn't know anything and the guy was nice enough to trim a tall tree to a shorter one (it's a little under 5 feet now) and only charge us for that price (it was originally 6ft tall). We stuffed the tree into my Brother's car's trunk and made it home. Lucky enough we had a tree stand for it with one missing screw sadly but we have been able to make it work. Even more lucky, we got the tree and all of that business done before it started to rain heavily!

Well we have a real christmas tree sitting in our living room now. For the first time in my life we have a real fucking christmas tree. out of 24 years... we have a real christmas tree. A REAL ONE! I think it must have been Brian visiting us that has made this possible... at least I think so. It's been a real blessing so to say with him being in my life that such amazing things have happened.

Yesterday I had to take him to the airport, but I'm glad that he came to visit for a little while. At least he's back with his family for Christmas and well... I miss him already. Sob sob. Today on the other hand has been very low key. I wrapped my parents gift up with is actually just a bunch of papers - which tells them that they've got two tickets for Teatro Zinzanni next week Tuesday. I feel like I should get them something else but honestly those tickets were rather pricey and well I don't know what else to get him.

i still have holiday cards to write. so if you're expecting one from me - think of it as a new years card now. it will be late. :|

but I hope everyone has a good christmas/hanukah/kwanza/warm winter holiday!

i think i'm done writing here. off to go poke at mixi.

i will probably write once more before the end of the month, doing my usual yearly look back...
