It irks me that I'm busy

Warm herb/vegatable knot garden
Originally uploaded by lilusako. Yet again a whole week has past by and I haven't written a single bit in my LJ. It's been so long and it pains me that i'm not writing as often as I want to be. On my drive to work this morning I thought, "Gee, there's so much that I want to write about and yet I can't seem to find the time to do it" because I am so busy!

I have finally moved out and have settled in neku_niku's living room and will be here until well the other roommate moves out. But at least my morning commute isn't bad any more. Actually it's rather nice. I'm also so much more closer to Los Angeles! Though work has been stressful.

I always seem to end up doing so much at work, and sometimes I wish I were getting paid more but I shouldn't be complaining. Last week was the first week that I actually went full time. With thursday being an exhausting night being there from 9AM to 10PM. I swear I don't know what my job would do if I were to leave the company right now.

A few weeks ago I did a set of color illustrations, Copic marker on vellum for a book publication that my boss is putting together. She wanted this sort of 'hand rendered water coloured' type of feel and tried to get it done through computer aided software. It just wasn't possible though. I told her earlier prior to it all that I could render decently by hand, and she didn't listen. It wasn't until days spent in frustration trying to process million-sized mb files that I told her I could colour at a decent rate. i ended up doing them by hand anyway and I did a total of 6 illustrations. I wonder if they will be published and if I will get credited for them. One illustration seen on the right here is a warm herb/vegatable knot garden illustration. two types of boxwood is used to create the knot and the rest is filled with various herbs/vegatables for the warm season.

Other than that things have been busy. One of my friends is trying to hire me to work for him, though I had to turn him down his full time offer. However, I did offer to chip in part time work for a few hours a week. So maybe that will work out. In addition - i hope to be taking on my first freelance project this week. A friend of mine works for an Architect and they need a designer so I hope to work with them as their landscape designer and be able to take on my very own project. So not only will I be working full time now, but hopefully i'll be able to tack on a few more hours in other freelance work.

the past week or so I've also had some new experiences. last weekend I went to Disneyland with Shey, Glen, and Brian. Brian and I got stuck on Roger Rabbit's ride in Toon town, the first time i've ever gotten stuck on a ride and actually had to get out of it. Too bad since we were spinning decently.

Last wednesday I got to ride for the first time in a Porsche, with the top down. We had to visit a clients place to take photos, and so we took my boss' husband's car and drove it down to beverly hills where our client is located. there was a funny moment though during this Porsche experience. On our way to Beverly, we were about to get on the on ramp and at the light an older gentleman in a porsche as well on the opposite side saw us and gave us the most dirtiest look ever as we passed him. it was hilarious! we couldn't stop laughing seeing the look on his face.

this past weekend was jam packed as well. I went to lunch and saw my professor and some old classmates, catching up on life, friends, and the landscape world. afterwards I made a quick detour to Chado's to pick up some new tea. after Chado's I drove down to see Brian. We hung around for a bit, then we went to dinner at Capones, and then we spent the evening at OC's "Rag Fest" at Fullerton public library.

Great music, but geez, everyone there but us and a few performers were well in their age. Made me feel like an old lady. I think we were the youngest couple there... *sighs*

We spent sunday being lazy, him sharing his photos from japan, and then his dad took us out to check out the "Phoenix Club's Ocktoberfest" in which we drank beer, watched people be silly, and have some german food. it was a good weekend. I seem to pack my weekends in though...

today i went to work, however, my co-worker brought her recipe book on soups! so i photocopied a bunch of recipes since i've been in a soup mood recently and decided i should give them a shot sometime soon.

even more recently my taste buds have been craving for seafood, so for this evening's dinner I tried out the Moules Mariniere recipe. For making it the first time, it was really good.... i guess I tend to spoil myself with decent cooking. I also made some mozzerlla garlic bread to go with it. I ended up using half a bottle of white wine... and drank the rest. haha.

alright. my fingers are tired of typing.
