A day at the workshop with the Beat Freaks and Quest Crew
IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!
Ok, I'm gonna tell you guys what happened from the moment I woke up on May 3rd for the Beat Freaks/Quest Crew workshop. When I woke up this morning, I had a huge smile on my face because I knew the day is gonna be amazing!!
Ok, so skipping through the whole morning routine, The Positive Effects were on the road to New Jersey about 45 miles away from my house, That was when we realized that we forgot the receipt to show the SCAT people. I was sooo nervous that we wouldn't be able to get in. I started freakin' out in the car! But when we got to the place, we explained how we left the receipt and the SCAT people were Filipinos so I started speaking Tagalog with them and charmed them.lol
So, we got in and we put our things down by a corner. And guess who were RIGHT NEXT TO US? Two of the members of Phresh Select! So, we talked to them for a little bit while waiting for the Beat Freaks to come. It was really cool to meet another ABDC crew. They were really nice.
While warming up and stretching, I looked over to the door and saw a familiar maroon-haired dancer! Teresa was the first Beat Freak I saw then I saw Jules and then Shorty and Rino. While the Beat Freaks were walking to the stage, I said hi and waved to Jules and Shorty and Rino and Teresa! They said hi back.
Teresa came up to the two members of the Phresh Select members and talked to them, then, she came up to us, Positive Effects, and started talking to us. She came and said hi to me. I told her "My name is Bea also known as Twinkie" and she knew exactly who I was. She knew I was the girl who drew them the chibi Beat Freaks. Jules, Shorty, and Rino then came up to us and talked to us for a while. I made Teresa, Jules, and Rino to sign my shirt.
On to the workshop. First, It was Jules and Shorty's class. First, we ran laps and stretched just to warm-up. Jules taught us top rocks like the Latin rock, The Charleston rock, the Apache, etc. Jules is so funny and you guys know that. Then, Shorty taught us some footworks and the backspin(I kinda got it.lol) and the Baby Freeze. It was tiring but it was AWESOME!!
Then, it was CHOREO TIME!! Teresa and Rino were the ones who taught us a routine. It was to Lady Gaga's "Just Dance." Rino taught us the first part, then Teresa, and then back to Rino. Let me tell you guys, IT WAS AN AWESOME ROUTINE!!! RINO AND TERESA ARE AWESOME!!! It was a really awesome routine I LOVED IT!! I'm still dancing and practicing the routine it was really awesome! But the Beat Freaks class eventually had to end.
So, it was Quest Crew time. First, Dom was acting really funny and stupid(not in a bad way). It was so funny. Quest Crew is funny. First, Dominic taught us a stunt which I did not do! I could not do it at all! It was too hard! So, I skipped that part and did not do it all.lol So it was Choreo time!!! First, Dominic taught his part, then Hok, then Feng. It was a really hard choreo but it was still awesome! The class eventually had to end:( But after that we had a huge cypher! And you guys saw the video.lol
I WAS ROCKING THE CYPHER!!lol There were pretty decent dancers and really awesome dancers. I remembered when this boy called out Dom and Dom totally shut him down with a windmill to a halo to a headspin and then to baby mills WITH THE MICROPHONE IN HIS HAND!!!! It was crazy! Then, Keeley came down in the middle of the cypher and came up to me and made me give her a five while she was locking. IT WAS AWESOME!!lol Then, I started locking after she rocked the cypher.lol After the cypher I went up to the crews that were on stage. I was about to say hi to them when they told me I was dope! I was thanking them so many times! Teresa said I was dope, Keeley thought I was sick, Jules said I was really good and Feng thought I was crazy, and etc! Then, it was MEET and GREET time!!
We waited in line for a couple of minutes. While we were in the line, we called LeeJ and we talked with him for a little bit. And LeeJ knew I was the girl that drew the chibi Beat Freaks and I was really happy about it!lol He saw our shirt and liked it.lol Then, it was our time with the Beat Freaks.lol Something really funny happened. My camera was broken(just my luck) so I had to use my phone. LeeJ was trying to take pics with us with the Beat Freaks but my phone is whack.lol
So, we only had videos.lol So they signed the shirts we made. Maryss signed it first, then Teresa, then Keeley, then Lindsey, then Jules, and then Shorty and then Rino. We tried to take pics with Maryss, Teresa, and Keeley but like I said my phone was whack. Teresa, Keeley, and Jules told me I was dope. All I could do was thank them for the amazing compliment. I MEAN THE BEAT FREAKS TELLING ME I'M DOPE!! When Shorty signed my shirt, she told me "Yo, were dope, I wanna be like you when I grow up!" All I could do was laugh at her comment because it was ridiculous! I really am not that good. And it was such a great compliment! I turned tomato red.
Then, when Rino signed my shirt, LeeJ was right behind us and told Rino I was the one who drew the chibi Beat Freaks. She said it was her favorite and I was blushing. When Feng signed the back of my shirt(Quest Crew are really really nice!) I told him I wanna be just like him when I grow up and he said "Nah, you're gonna be better." The crew were just making me blush.lol Hok signed my shirt and he said I was really good. Victor said I was really good too, Ryan, Aris, and Dom said it too. Both crews made my face turn red! lol
That was not the end of our Meet and Greet. We waited till the lines got shorter and went back to take pics with them. We came up to Geminiz and took pics with them. The whole BF actually. Maryss gave me and "Tha Joker aka Jhuron", my crew mate, some pointers on how to pop. Jules gave advice to my brother on how to do a head spin. And she said "Practice" lol When we talked to Lindsey, Teresa, and Keeley, we told them about how they are the reason why we came up with our crew name "Positive Effects". And told them that we're starting a workshop this summer.
They were really really really Down-to-Earth and really cool and really awesome people!! I was kind of pissed though because The SCAT people tried kicking us out even though he saw Lindsey and Shorty take out their cameras and talked with us. We took pictures with Quest Crew again. They're awesome guys.
Oh and Positive Effects have their very first fans!lol People were coming up to us and complimenting us and there were people who came up to us who wanted to take pics with us! I was shocked.lol Well, we ended the day talking with Maryss( Ihugged her goodbye.lol) and LeeJ. I really did not want to leave!! On the way home I was screaming in the car. I tried to hold it in but I just couldn't do it!!
