This photo is from well over ten years ago, obviously. I think I was six? It was the Memorial Day parade in my hometown and it's tradition that the current kindergartners get all decked out patriotic-like and march. My kindergarten BFF Kellee is in the front there smiling at the camera. I'm holding her hand. On this particular day, even though I'm smiling, I remember being rather grumpy. My stepmom couldn't find anything adequately "red white and blue" (should I put that in quotes or no?) for me to wear. SO she raided my younger brother's closet and the striped shirt I'm wearing is his. I was MORTIFIED and thought someone would be able to tell for sure. No one did. And looking at the picture as an adult, everything just looks terribly 80's.
I did love that Oshkosh denim jumper, though.
The other interesting thing about this photo is that I recognize just about everyone in it. And still faithfully talk with many of them. The joy (or curse?) of small town living.
