This week made me nervous. We got an assignment about 2 weeks ago to shoot 4-6 minute short. We casted, got locations NOT AT SCHOOL, actors, our script, shots and props done in a week. Now I was worried because not only was it my first major shoot using film for my own project(which was fairly expensive)we did a lot of shots and moves that we didn't have to do. Every second you roll and its wrong is basically like pissing away dollars and you have to be ready to make a descions at any second. We had rehersals and run throughs and they defiantly paid off.
We finished filming this morning. We finished 2 weeks before the deadline, we were under budget , have left over film and there were really no fuck ups. The actors and crew were on the ball. Even the bad takes we can use, we even had time to get some extra stuff in. overall the professionalism was awesome.
In hindsight, there are still a few things I would wanna just because it wasntwhat I was expecting, but You have to pick these things apart to learn for the next time. I would day for the first time out, we went way above and beyond and The next two shoots we have penciled in I know will be even better then this. It was awesome working with my friends from school and home to bring this thing together and hopefully we will have a nice piece when we are done editing. I LOVE IT. I learned alot and this defiantly assured me of alot of things. FANTASTIC.
well tonight it will be nice to chill with my friends in the city for the night, then go out with The Littlest Man Band and the Reel Big Fish a couple times this week.
Can't wait for break.
Can't wait to play with the new band.
Can't wait to ski.
Goodtimes this weekend with more to come. Time to relax.
Life is good.
