Hey y'all! This is my first post from my new place! Yay!
I really like living on my own. It's been really nice to remember who I am without a voice telling me I'm a "waste of space" or a "fat piece of crap" or an "apathetic waste" or all of the other insults that I've had to endure for the past six months without much support (I love you, Billy! and Kendra! and Kristen!)
This move hasn't been all good though. It really hit my checking account hard (not to mention I had to pay for tuition and books) and I'm still in the red with outstanding bills and loans. Work also hasn't been all that productive either (only 16 hours in June and 6 so far scheduled for July) and, with classes starting, I can only work on Fridays now.
But, as I was raised to believe, everyday I wake up is a good day (a great day if I wake up with a smile).
On that note, I've printed out 68 pages of notes and such so that I could get started on a new short story (not part of the Whiskey tales) which I'm calling by the working title "Paladin." It's just another example of the Judeo-Christian themes and undertones that seem to influence some of my writing. And for anyone who is wondering about that... I find the Christian mythology (especially Catholicism) fascinating. I've always had this fascination for saints in particular.
Anyway, it's late and I'm still wired so maybe I'll get some work done... nah, Trading Places is on... the Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy movie.
