Have you hugged an engineer lately? :)
As part of Engineer's Week, the Mayor of Lincoln signed a proclamation, and I got to be a part of it! At the last minute, I was asked to substitute for the president of the Nebraska Society of Professional Engineers (NeSPE), of which I am our chapter's secretary. So I got to run home at lunch to change, head to the mayor's office, shake his hand, and pose for a picture. As the mayor and I were the shortest people, we stood in front, while I held up the proclamation.
That was pretty cool--it's not often that you get to meet your city's mayor!
