San Antonio/San Marcos competition

Yesterday I got back from the San Marcos competition....

Friday: I had to be in the silvie room for roll call at 7 am. After everyone was ready to go and the busses were there, we left around 8:15. The bus ride actually wasn't so bad. It only took about 3 1/2 hours to get there. I had a lot of candy and magazines to keep me occupied. We got to San Antonio around 11:30 and ate lunch at La Margarita for fajitas, mmm. We took a bunch or pictures outside on the balcony and looked around at the gift shops at "El Mercado." Then, it was time to get back on the bus and make a quick trip to the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk wasn't all that great...I did like their mall though. I wish I had more money to spend though. We went to San Marcos after that and checked into our hotel. I don't even know what it was called. They weren't crappy really..just...blah. I roomed w/ Bridge, Lauren Harrigan, and Lauren Keeling. After we got all settled in we just sat around & watched Lifetime before we had to watch Jazz co, Hip-hop, and the solos at the competition @ Texas State. I definaly didn't expect to be there so long! Everyone did awesome by the way. We got to Cracker Barrell around 10:30 for "dinner" and I got the chicken fried chicken with fried okra, green beans, & fries! HUGE meal but I was really hungry. Me and Bridge we tired on the bus n all but so hyper once we got back to the hotel around 12 that night. The room was freezing!

Saturday: Bridge & I got up around 5:45 while Laur & Lauren kept sleeping...lazy asses! I didn't want to be rushed doing my hair at the competition so I just slicked it back into a low pony and got dressed in my warmups. We got to the actual competition around 7 and got on the floor right away to space out the formations. The collesium we were going to be dancing in was HUGE! Everyone would definatly have a seat. After we got settled in upstairs with our stuff we sat around until we had to watch officer jazz. It was awesome b/c we were so supportive the whole time yelling and chanting for them. Definatly their best time yet. Team jazz went on at 11:32 and I was really nervous/excited/sad about my last time to perform jazz. I think I did awesome...better then any time I've performed it. Officer kick and lyrical were next..once again, awesome. Lyrical was sad for them since it was their last time perforing together so like all of them were crying during it but it worked well since it was an emotional song, lol. Kick was alright..not as good at the other times we've done it. My cowboy hat kept on coming down into my face! Team pom was fun too. Last time to wear those goofy pink wigs! YESS!! After all the costume madness was over we all had pizza for dinner and I tried sushi for the 1st time...it was actually pretty good. Cathren & Lauren Wells finaled in their solos too! They did awesome. All the solos that final are always amazing.Oh and I forgot to mention Ms. Phelan got me a really cute hot pink Coach bag! eeee! Awards finally came around 10 pm. We were all exausted and ready to go home! We got 40 awards in all...WEE!! Although jazz got runner up we got some actual awards for pom this time! All that work for something finally! The officers did great too..1st in jazz! After the long ceremony was finished we packed up our stuff and got back on the huge busses for the hotel. I took a shower and we watched some tv. (Lauren Keeling got asked to prom too!) I waited for Ryan go get home and call me then crashed since I was reeeally tired.

Sunday: We got to wake up a little later..around 8. I didn't have to do much to get ready since Bridge and I weren't going to Sea World with everyone thank God. We got everything together and packed up in our suitcases to leave. We waited around for awhile for Jen, Laur Forde, Mrs. Spitzer & Strozier to leave for home. 1st we went shopping at the Coach outlet then Guess. I got a really cute Coach tote! :o) Love that store..I wish I had everything in it..riight. We had some lunch at Dairy Queen (haha like the only thing around on the interstate) and got back to driving. Ms. Spitzer is halarious and they definatly know how to make you laugh when you're bummed about something. I love our convos about silvies and things that annoy us. I slept in the car for about and hour before we were back home before I knew it. What a short car ride! It felt weird being home though. Ryan came over to see me when I got back..I really missed him! I made him some dinner then my mom & Adrienne got home from the rodeo (Clay Walker). I went over to Ryans house till about 10:30. I didn't realize how tired I really was since I hadn't gotten any sleep really the whole weekend.

Today: I woke up arond 12...mmm!! FINALLY SPRING BREAK HAS BEGUN!! I went with Bridge to the Old Navy outlet down 1960 then to Fazolis for lunch. It was soo funny coming home, she didn't realize she was going the wrong was down 1960 for like 10 minutes. I had never been that far down there before. Blonde moment right there.

Tonight Ryan's coming home from fishing in Galveston with Kyle and we'll probably go out to eat or something with Bridge and Dusty. Who knows.

Oh yeah...I saw my dad's new apartment last Thursday. Me and Adrienne helped him move in. I really like it...and the pool!! He does need a few house warming gifts though...I do like his huge jacuzzi tub. We went to dinner @ Pappasitos later. It hasn't been just us 3 in a while.

I hope this break is fun and full or rest...I better get to go swimming at least ONCE this whole break! My favorite thing ever!
