Another late night/early morning of being awake. I was actually somewhat productive. I started off by reading a few comic books. I'm up to book 12 of The Walking Dead. It's a legit zombie comic. If anyone wants it I have a link to megaupload all you need is something to unzip the file. It's not going to read as anything until you run it through winrar or something, but it'll be all pictures. Not really that scary, but the story is really compelling. Very good survival story, cultural and national pyschology, as well as other things I highly recomment it. OH and also World War Z. That book scared the crap out of me. I couldn't read at night at one point hahaha. But damn good book.
On that note Brad Pitt's production company out bid Leonardo Dicaprio's for the rights to make the movie about 2 years ago. I think it's under universal and theyre now "emotionally" and financially invested in the movie. The script is actually being re-written and a new director is in play. The old director was the guy who did babylon 5 (i forget his name, but he's very big in sci-fiction movies). So if that guy wasn't good enough hopefully theyre trying to make this the most legit zombie movie of all time. It has the potential to be because it's not all about zombies. A lot about human nature, geo-political implications of a global pandemic, global catastrophy, as well as essentially a war setting of every nation under attack by an enemy that defies all rules of engagment. THE BOOK IS LEGIT. The author, Max Brooks, wants nothing to do with the movie because he admits, as a screen writer himself, he's just not as good as those guys. He also wants it to be the Lord of the Rings of zombie movies and hopes it'll make some kind of oscar splash. And if all goes bad he doesn't want any blame if the movie sucks hahaha. The guy is really funny and extremely smart. Just youtube search Max Brooks comic con for his 2008 comic con talk and q&a session, very very good stuff. Beware of some spoiler stuff about World War Z if you havent read it before watching the clips.
Another productive thing i did tonight was look for some classes to take this fall. I decided i wanted to take only interesting classes that i'd be interested in taught by GOOD and inspiring teachers with legit ratings rated by more than 5 people on rate my professor. It's not exact science but it's more accurate than you think especially when you have a larger sample size of people in agreement of the professors skills and abilities. So i've narrowed it down to O'Connel for political sociology and Depaul for reporting literary journalism. Because of my transfer status i must get both of those classes cleared... so annoying. Yes i have taken LOWER DIVISION english and yes i have taken intro to soc.... sigh
Onto the reason for the title of this entry. I'm not emo, but listening to this recently created playlist does make me feel a little down on romantic feelings. I think anyone would feel this way with this play list. Some artist just to name a few: Adele, Feist, A Fine Frenzy, Jason Mraz, Aqualung, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, Jack Johnson. Almost all of the songs are live or acoustic or piano versions of all the songs so a very organic feel to them. Also a very selective list of songs that convey a particular tone and mood. A lot of the songs are about struggles in relationships and adversity in love. Not the "i need you how did you leave me" bullshit, but more of the mutual agreement that it's just not working out and the realization that some things will never be fixed. Songs about admitting defeat and trying to move on, but knowing that human nature wont allow you to forget about the emotional investments.
Like i said no emo. As a matter of fact i'm looking forward to sleeping because the last few things on my mind will be 1) CJ Watson is most likely playing for the Warriors next season if not on a 3 year $4.5mm deal but 1 year qualifying offer at $1mm. I'm really hoping he starts at point gaurd next to Monta Ellis so Monta can start the year playing shooting gaurd hopefully getting Stephen Curry ready to play next to Monta by seasons end. 2) Ryan Garko is starting to hit and he might be the long term solution at 1b, but the Giants still need another bat next season. Jason Bay? Rocco Baldelli? maybe trade for Jermaine Dye now that the white sox have Alex Rios? But if Velez is legit where does he play? You cant argue Schierholtz defense and arm in right felt, there are no takers for Rowands huge contract and his defense is very good in center field. That leaves an opening only in left field, but if velez plays there where's your power coming from? 3) It almost doesnt matter where i draft because my 6-7-8-9th round strategy for this coming year fantasy football is amazing. A little free information, very deep tight end talent this year. There are arguably 11 quality tight ends that are game changing you can get at almost any stages of the draft after the 4th round. Also i have almost no emergency picks at any round. I know who i want and where they will be.
Now that i have thoroughly strayed away from the actual topic at hand. I would like to say that I do get the feeling of being lonely without someone i'm romantically involved with, but if youre single youre going to feel that way once in a while. I welcome it with open arms and even invite it in for dinner with a nice helping of lovely music to help satisfy it's palet lol.
That's all for this evening ya'll. Dont deny things of yourself that occur naturally. You feel better if you just ride the wave rather than tiring yourself out swimming against the current. :)
Is there a chance? A fragment of light at the end of the tunnel...
