"This is how it works
You're young until you're not
You love until you don't
You try until you can't
You laugh until you cry
You cry until you laugh
And everyone must breathe
Until their dying breath
No, this is how it works
You peer inside yourself
You take the things you like
And try to love the things you took
And then you take that love you made
And stick

i read this whole thing and i gotta say i agree with every word. don't feel downtrodden, i know how it feels to feel like your parents don't support you, but you really really want to do something bigger with your life than simply fulfill their expectations.
i hope you find something that makes you happy and that you're passionate about. i've always thought you should do something pertaining to sports. like a sportswriter. :]
you are a really good writer, you should just learn to channel that! i think you should look for internships/volunteer opportunities to explore that sort of thing.
but yeah... my mom seems to want to force me to go in any direction that SHE thinks is beneficial, ie wherever is closer to her. she wants me to teach in china or taiwan because apparently mandarin-speakers are the new elite race and i must be part of that. ugh..
i drno... we're all in this awkward phase in our lives where we're all kind of floating around, looking for a current to take us away somewhere, and our parents are pulling in one direction and our brains are going in five different directions and life seems so impossible to navigate.
i'm watching tv right now and my dad is like, hey you should go to taiwan and be a movie star. because apparently it's super easy for anyone asian born and raised in america to become a celebrity in asian countries. LOL
so whaddaya think dolfeezy? should i go be an asian celebrity?? puahahahha....
oh man. life would be sweet.
okies... i'll talk to you laters. i mees yah! :]

and again thank you for saying i'd be great with something in sports. you dont know how much it means to me to hear someone, anyone, say sincerely that i'd be a good fit let alone you who i consider the opinion of very highly. i do like writing, but i'm not where i want to be yet. i think experience would help to sharpen that skill. so thank you again for all the encouraging and kind words :)
i really like you're metaphor of all of us post grads just floating around. we really are in a state of limbo right now. it's hard to keep moving along when we don't see a clear end in sight. we also would love to think that there's a right way to do things, but there almost never is.
i think your journey has yet to start stefizzle. your parents are trying so hard to plan things out for you because for the time being youre just there with them. i have complete confidence in you to do what you love and to experience the true beauties of life.
thank you one final time for reading and replying to my post. it means a lot to know someone out there is reading and that someone being you. good to hear we're in the same boat, wherever the hell it may take us hahaha
take care stefs! i miiiissa you too!
p.s. yes be a celebrity in ching chong land! maybe i'll stop insulting your (and half of me) people hahaha
