The vet called back with Mandy's latest blood results. Seems there may be something wrong with her pancreas. In comparison to the horrible visions I have been having..I can deal with this. Although we almost had another scare with her yesterday.
Mandy was in dire need of a bath and while I was drying her off I noticed a huge purpley bruise-like rashy looking something on her neck. I freaked out and immediately googled the mysterious affliction. mistake. One should only google diagnose if you are looking to receive the worst possible medical prognosis. So, while google image searching, I find what closely resembles Mandy's purpley bruise-like rashy looking something only to find out that she quite possibly could be suffering from mange! Mange, as in mangy! How could I have possibly raised a mangy dog! ME? This can't be it. The vet was due to call first thing in the morning.
8:30 am: Vet calls. We ask him about the purpley bruise-like rashy looking something and he informs us that he took a blood sample from her neck Saturday morning and that sort of reaction was not uncommon. *sigh of relief*
Along with the news that Mandy might be having a problem with her pancreas, I was also given lengthy instructions detailing her new special diet. So...I'll just be over there hovering in the corner with a mild to moderate case of scurvy while my little Mandy enjoys her lovely boneless, skinless chicken breast, basmati rice and steamed carrots.
