San Diego was good, good. It wasn't the best vacation of my life, but it was good to be out and about again. Spending time with Juan and Matt was the best. Rare is the time that we get to spend this much uninterrupted time together. We didn't do the zoo, Sea World, or anything too exciting, but we walked a lot. Which is a big step for me.
Monday:
La Jolla- ate at La Dolce Vita, had gelato, walked around, and stopped by a few shops
Downtown/Gaslamp District- walked around looking for a restaurant, ran into a praying christian group in front of starbucks, ate at Dick's Last Resort (I had awesome ribs, fries, and some jalapeno cheese gravy)
Tuesday:
Richard Walker's Pancake House- good corned beef hash, but not worth all the hype
Seaport Village- walked around the shops, met a guitar playing bum with a skateboarding parrot
Air and Space Museum- lots of exhibits, a flight simulator
Old Town- saw the surface shops, ate at the creole restaurant, walked down the street
Belmont Park- walked through the rides, walked down the beach, and into the water with matt
Downtown- walked all the way from the hotel to the theater, ghiradelli's, simpsons movie!, and rock bottom with the creepy 15-year-old that was checking out matt, walking all the way back to the hotel
Wednesday:
Hash House- a restaurant in Hillcrest (way north of Downtown) where it seems like it's required to have tattoos to work there, but there's a picture of Martha Stewart on the wall. the portions were HUGE and delicious. the back of the shirts said "twisted farmhouse food"
Belmont Park- jumped in the fountain with Juan
Museum of Making Music(Carlsbad)- lots of cool instruments, some that we got to play
As I said, nothing too exciting, but fun all the same!
