Alanna landed with a loud thud on the floor by Dawn's bed, with her bag and sword falling down a minute later. "HA! Missed me!" She yelled at the ceiling. She was really used to this.

Dawn came awake so suddenly that she tipped over backwards. "HOLY CRAP!"

Alanna dove to see if she could keep Dawn from any permanent damage. "Sorry! Things keep happening! Hi Dawn."

Ow. The floor was still hard and gravity still worked. And wait. "Alanna?"

"Yeah, I keep doing this to people. Are you all right?"

"Oh, yeah, I'm good." She stared up from her spot on the floor, then scrambled to her feet. "Hi!"

Then she remembered Alanna's letter, and if the other girl didn't move out of the way, there was definitely a hug in her future.

Contrary to popular belief, Alanna had no problem with hugs and easily accepted Dawn's. "Oomph."

Dawn didn't say anything, figuring that Alanna had heard enough condolences by this point, but she tightened the hug a little before letting go.

"How long are you staying, and not that I'm complaining, but how are you here?"

Oddly enough, she hadn't. Most of her friends preferred to drag her out and have her run into crazy aliens who only want the tiger, really. Alanna flopped on to the floor by one of the beds. "I keep trying to get to Fandom and missing." She sort of explained.

Actually, that made enough sense to Dawn, who sprawled on the bed and handed down a couple of pillows as she leaned over to see Alanna. "Any particular reason you want to be there?"

Alanna moved one of the pillows under her bottom and shrugged her standard half shrug. "I didn't want to be home? I don't know...I was hoping to see people, but I got to do that without Fandom. How have you been?"

"Kinda sucky, actually," she shrugged, "but I'm getting better. And wow, I so get not wanting to be home. Just, uh, don't take up shoplifting as a hobby?"

Alanna frowned. "Do I even want to know? About the shoplifting? And...why the sucky for you?"

"It was a thing, after Buffy died and came back," Dawn explained, on some level unable to believe that desperate person had actually been her. "And, uh, Sam and I broke up."

Alanna decided not to ask. "Oh. I'm sorry to hear that." She leaned up on to the bed to offer a very awkward hug due to the bed.

Dawn leaned down and there was more hugging. It was good. "Thanks. So, what do we want to do? There's ice cream and stuff if we want to mope, or we can go shoe shopping in the Haight if we want to people watch..."
