Greetings from sunny Sarasota

It's been a week since I arrived in Florida for my internship and let me say it has been quite the adventure so far. Sarasota doesn't seem to like me and Abby too much...we keep having crazy mishaps happen to us, which seem unfortunate but at the same time give us some funny stories to remember about the trip. All in all it's been a good experience. Getting to do something out of the daily routine is always good, especially when it involves free trips and boating with dolphins. The work we do can be tedious and it would be a bit of an understatement when I say I'm looking forward to coming home, but still I am very grateful and happy that I had the opportunity to do this. I've been in contact with the zoo via email and once I come home from this internship, I jump right into the next one. Starting the 27th I will be working in the Swamp at Brookfield Zoo, doing all kinds of zookeeping tasks. I'm looking forward to it, but I wish all the hard work came with some pay...40 hours with no cash to show for it is going to be disheartening but I'm sure it will be a great experience and hopefully lead me to a job come may. We'll just have to see how things go. But back to the present. I got to spend time with my floridian family members, including my godson today. It was nice not only to see them, but to get out of the apartment for awhile. My days here have been spent either on a boat, at the apartment or at the YMCA working out. We've been too exhausted to take on much other activity. I have gotten in some photography though, but I plan on doing more. I'll be posting lots of pictures when I get home. Give you guys an idea about what I've been seeing and doing. So until then, I miss everyone...see you in 11 days!
