I went to South Carolina with my Mom on Thursday and I left on Saturday. Adam graduated from Marine bootcamp on Friday. If you guys aren't familiar with who Adam is (then you def haven't ever read my journal, lol) he is one of my two BEST friends. He's been through EVERYTHING with me and always been there for me. He's a wonderful person and we've been friends since our freshman year of high school. On Thursday was Recruit liberty and that is where he could walk around with all of us (his family went and his girlfriend, Sarah) we walked around, saw his barracks, ate lunch with him and went shopping on base. I was sooo happy just to be able to talk to him again. He was indeed different, but in good ways. He seemed more confident, he was sure of himself or so it seemed. He gained a lot of weight in muscle and had a deep tan (haha those poor kids got these really funny hat tans, they are endearing though). My mom and I left early from it (he had to be back in his barracks at like 7 something, and he wasn't allowed to leave base) so he could have time with his family and stuff. We went to his graduation the next morning, I cried. It was so moving. I don't even know how to describe it. There were 419 boys in his graduating class. I think there was 60 something in his Platoon. I just knew how much he wanted this, this graduation, I know how hard he has worked and it just made me so proud of him. I've never been that proud of anyone in my entire life. I'm so grateful I was able to be there to see it, I am so grateful that such an honorable, hardworking, kind, funny, tenacious is my best friend. I can't even explain it. We all went to Applebees after graduation and it was great to have everyone sit around and talk. After that we all headed our different ways, his family headed home and my mom and I spent one more night in Beaufort. He's home for 17 days and it will be so much fun. I can't wait to hang out with him and Kelly. Adam and I are gunna go to the super walmart in Chiefland, eat tater tots and fishsticks, make jello and watch Robin Williams live on Broadway.
ADAM!!! Doesn't he look great!?!?! No Fro!? WTF! haha <3

These photos are ones of his Platoon when they were on the parade deck. They vary whether they are from Thur or Friday (when he graduated, officially)
On Thursday they got their Marine Pins which have the anchor, globe and eagle (i'm pretty sure) This is a picture of the DIs awarding the pins
When the DI gave Adam his pin.
I know I've looked a lot better in photos before but this is my third favorite photo of all time...
This is my second favorite photo of all time...hugging him felt SO good. I missed him so much. After months of being without my best friend that hug was just...I dunno put some kind of cliche saying here because it was that, AMAZING, you don't realize how much a person means to you until they are gone. I'm so proud of him, so very proud.
This is Adam giving his father a hug on the day of his graduation. It is officially my favorite photo of all time.
