Oh my oh my it seems to get longer and longer between each post. I'll try to fill you in from where I left off. The biggest thing that has happened would be my Grandpa Hack dying. He got really sick and never got better. My mom was able to be with him and hold his hand as he died though which is some comfort. We flew back there like we were going to for Thanksgiving anyway but it was for the memorial service and to visit family instead. It was good to see everybody, especially my cousins.
Other than that college has been a big thing. I applied to Cal Baptist, UC Irvine, Point Loma, Whitworth, and SDSU. I got in to all of those but I didn't win any scholarships or receive any financial aid so I'll be at SDSU next year. I'm not extremely disappointed because God has a plan greater than what I could expect if I follow him. I feel called to teach children English. What age or where I don't know yet but He'll show me.
I'm finally over Dustin and Will both. I can look at them or talk to them without feeling any great sense of loss which is an accomplishment. I'm not looking for anyone right now either. I'm going to Prom with my best guy pal Chris and a few of my closest friends. I've gotten closer with both Jessica and Jena this year. I miss a lot of old friends too like Ivana and Ronny. I've also met a lot of great friends at taco night and school who I wish I'd met sooner. TACO night is my Saturday night Bible study. It stands for Talk About Christ Openly but we eat tacos too.
My girls are the sweetest most precious gift from God. Emma's almost one now and Faith will be starting Kindergarten next year! Scary I know! Lisa and Chad got a new puppy named Peanut. He's definately a pistol but he's cute. Max is better cause he's more mellow.
Graduation is coming up!!! I can hardly believe it. I'm both nervous and excited. I'll be sad to leave some of my friends. I'll be sad to leave Mr. Holler and Mr. Norris and Mrs. Bean/ Woods and even Hr. Davey. They've all played such a big part in my life but I'll do my best to keep in touch. West Hills has been good to me and for me. I never thought I'd go there and it was probably the scariest and most beneficial decision I've made aside from Spiritual ones. I should tell you about Mr. Norris too. He and his wife Trisha lost their baby earlier this year. I went to the funeral and had a prayer quilt passed around for them.
God recently put an amazing section of scripture into my life. I think everyone has a core verse that really speaks to them and tells what God wants for their life. I've been praying for revelation and it came in this form. I'll close with these verses.
Romans 12:9-21 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. (or "be willing to do menial work.") Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
God bless, Love, Colleen
