I haven't seriously updated this thing in a long ass time. So here I go with the updating.
Yesterday was the first Hurricane Crush showcase and it was awesome except for a few mistakes. Hurricane Crush is the new competitive dance team I'm in and I absolutely love it. We performed three songs last night; two of them were choreographed by Jim, our fabulous founder/president/choreographer and the third song we performed was Tina Landon's choreography from Janet Jackson's Velvet Rope tour. I could not believe, and still can't, that I was able to do a Janet dance and do it well. My aunt and three cousins, a few of my sisters, and my roomie, RA, and some other people from my floor came to see the show and I was soooo happy that they did. It really meant a lot to me to see a lot of familiar faces out in the audience.
So now the year is winding down. Well, not the year.. but the school year. I can't believe I'm practically done with my freshman year of college. It's amazing how fast this school year has gone by. I'm a little sad to be leaving behind all the new friends I made but I'm really happy to be going home. It's only now that the homesickness has kind of kicked in. Ironic, isn't it? But I'll be ready to come back in August since I'm already excited about next semester. I can't wait for football season to start up again and hopefully this time I'll be a Hurricanette. I think I have a better chance at it this year because now I know what their style is and what the coaches are looking for. I'm excited about living in Mahoney next year and lofting my bed and decorating the room. [I'm a dork, I know.] I'm excited about Greek Life recruitment and I already have it all planned out on how I'm going to get from marching band rehearsal and dance class to the suite in time for rush week. [Again, I know I'm a dork.] I'm not too excited about turning 20 though.. even though that's 7 months away. [And there might be an away football game that day that we'll have to go to. Bah!] I'm gonna miss being a teenager.
I'm leaving for Jersey in two weeks so I'm gonna try and really enjoy the time I have left here in Miami. And so with that.. I leave to go tan by the pool.
