The Good
I had a lovely Valentines weekend. I snuck out early and swapped out our comcast box for an HD box with dvr. Actually I didn't really have to sneak cause V was at work, but it was definitely a surpise when we got home later. V spent several hours in the basement earlier in the week working on my present which turned out to be a bottle of wine on which he etched a poem I wrote. I would post a picture but i'm not sure it would be easy to see. It's very nice though - he even bought an extra bottle of the wine so we could try it and not have to open that one :)
We went down to the Food and Wine festival and tasted some nice wines. I felt that the quality of the wines was better this year, even a couple more german wines than last year - but even some reds that I quite liked. There was definitely less in the food department - no igourmet with their delicious cheeses, or yancy's fancy. Some new balsamic vinegar place that was extra yummy that I forgot to go back to. Telf and I bought some Spice Rack chocolates which were very interesting.
For dinner Sunday I tried making Beef Wellington, which came out pretty darn tasty if I do say so myself, however the puff pastry really added a lot of extra "puff" to the meal. Next time I would try and do it with much less puff.
